Cherry Blossom Park

Lee paused once more as he looked over toward a patch of grass as she continued the subject. He looked back at her and then looked back as he continued to look for it as he replied
"Of course. It just has some things I need to remember in it. I wouldn't be able to concentrate on anything until I finish it."
All in all, he was telling the truth, it had diagrams and numbers as well as things he needed to keep in his head. It was the goal of it all that he rather not try and say.

Dawn wanted to ask another question but she was questioning someone who she was friends with for years...she didn't know weather to trust her gut or ignore it.

Lee moved his hands onto his hips as he continued to look over the ground as he slowly walked back up the path that he had drug Dawn down. He kept an eye out for something red as he had conflicting interests in his head. Getting her involved would be a good thing in the sense that she would not get hit in the cross fire. But then she would be branded a enemy from the people that took her in. And if she acted against it, what was he going to do, let her go to tell.

Dawn walked ahead of Lee, she stood on the path she was brought down. She had a feeling something was wrong but saying something might make their relationship turn sour

Lee continued to scan for the to be blasted book. It was not like he had took some elaborate maze to get from one spot to the other. He watched as Dawn moved ahead of him as he continued to search. He paused as he thought to have seen it a few steps behind Dawn. He slowly turned his attention elsewhere.

Dawn's mind started to wander, what are the docs and diagrams for...? I shouldn't be questioning it...it doesn't matter...does it?

Lee slowly continued to let his head move from one side to the other as he walked around, inching closer to the other side of Dawn and then, as he was in reached. Moved himself over to take hold of the book with his right hand and rose into a straightened posture as he spoke
"Found it."

"Good." Dawn said her voice troubled but she tried to cover it up

Lee turned to face her as she poke of it being good that he did in fact find it. He looked down at it and opened it up and flipped through a few pages and to make sure that nothing had been torn or gotten wet. He then looked down at himself. He was dry but not completely so he would have to carry the book.

"Is anything in there damaged?" she asked looking off into the distance.

Lee heard Dawn ask if the book was alright and he continued to thumb through the pages and slowly shook his head while looking down at it and spoke
"No, it seems just as good as when I last had it."

"Okay. So what's next?" Dawn asked playing off the subject, she was trying to keep it away from her mind because she would continue to ask questions.

Lee slowly rose his head up as Dawn spoke of what to do now. He had thought about the book so much that he had forgotten about what was at hand. He used his hand to close the book slowly and moved his left hand to cover over it and then replied
"Well, I think...."
He paused. He had nothing. He had gotten so worked but over the book that his entire state of mind switched back. He let out a low breath.

"What?" Dawn asked as she looked over at Lee

Lee looked over toward her once more as he moved his left hand to the back of his head and rubbed it as he thought more about it. So far, he wasn't even getting a glimpse of anything that might be childhood related as he then spoke
"Never mind. I need to get going."
He rose his right hand with the book in a sign that he needed to finish reading it over

Dawn sensed the sense of change when Lee said he was leaving, she looked at the book and quietly put her notebook down, she flashstepped and grabbed the book right out of Lee's hand as she flashstepped right by him.

"Haha, I'm still just as fast."

Lee paused as he felt his grasp on the book become nothing but air. He then looked over to Dawn and rose his right hand up to push his glasses onto his face as he held his right elbow with his left hand and spoke
"Dawn, give me the book. Your not as fast as you think you were."

Dawn smiled.

"Really, I was faster then you as a kid. I was taught by the best captain in the SS. I know I'm faster."

"If you really want the book, come and get it." Dawn smiled and waved the book in the air.

Lee slowly moved his right hand down to his hip as he did the same with his left hand and then replied
"Dawn, things have changed. Just because you think you were trained by your so called best captain wont save you. I graduated top of my class and faster than anyone else in the history of the soul society. I will catch you. Just hand me the book..."
He took a step toward her as he held out his right hand
"And then we'll be okay."

"My Captain Haji was taught by the best and still is the best. He also graduated top of his class, all he taught me was flashstepping and kido. I have no need for a zanpakto. So Think about it, do you really wanna challenge someone who has had years of training? I'll give you a second." Dawn smiled and put the book in her front pocket of her jeans and buttoned it.

Lee nodded his head at the name and heard what it was that she said and closed his eyes as he moved his right hand into his pocket and held his left hand out lightly as he replied
"No need for a zanpakto she says. Well, I'll combat your years against mine..."
He withdraws his right hand as he held a small iron bar in his grasp as he continued
"With my zanpakto. I'll show you why I was never late for class."
He paused. Did he just make a stupid reference? To school.

Dawn laughed a little.
"A fight really, just so ya know I was an ex-captain once or twice."
Dawn pouted a little.
"You implore for a fight over a book, what's in this book that your so interested in? Plus a fight in such a lovely place like this will destroy the cherry blossoms."

Lee slowly let his head shake from one side to the other lightly as he spoke
"Not a fight. A more precise game. No damage to the area, no spells, no attacks, just pure and all out speed."
He slowly rose his right hand out in front of himself and let his fingers begin to spin the knife around in his hand as he continued
"As for rankings, I used to be a captain myself so I think the odds are still plain on the table. I need to finish that book."

"I don't believe you, you say finish the book as if it's something you borrowed from the library." Dawn turned serious...all fragments of playfulness disappeared

"What are you lying about?" Dawn asked "Tell me the truth and you get your book back. Tell me a lie and I'll use Hadou number 63 on it."

Lee listened to what it was that she said and stopped the spinning of his knife as she seemed to be actually very serious about the subject. Lee clenched the knife and pointed toward her
"You wouldn't...."
He thought more before he finished. He had not seen this person in so long he couldn't remember. She might just actually try and do it. He then replied
"What's to say I don't lie?"
