Dawn heard Lee say she wouldn't.
"Really? You don't think I won't set this thing on fire?"
Dawn switched weight from her left foot to her right.
"The Innocent Dawn you knew as a kid is barely here anymore. Everything has changed since you left, you barely remember me and your willing to test me. When you left I had to fight by myself without help, it's like everything that happened in the past designed me to be better and more hardcore." "
Just in case you don't remember, as a child I was the one who was always attracted to fire, and I'm more of a firebug now that I'm older. So keep testing me." Dawn pressed

"The rules are, you tell me the truth you get the book back, unharmed and not turned into ashes. Lie to me and this whole thing sets on fire. How will I know if your lying..." Dawn switched her serious face to an evil grin. "it's something I learned when you left."

Lee listened to what it was that Dawn said. She seemed like she flipped to another side of the coin as she stated about what he didn't know and the fires she once loved so dearly. He was trying to think of what he could do or say. To try and push her would make things worse and since he was not in his shikai, there was no guarantee that he would actually be able to get the book before hand. it was stacking against him quickly. He slowly let his hands raise up as his head dropped and he spoke
"Okay, you win. But you have to promise that when I tell you why I want it back and what is in it, you will give it back immediately."

Dawn studied him, making sure he was legit that he wasn't so going to flip.

"Tell me what's going on and I'll think about giving it back to you, everything's changed and so have you and I wanna know your legit."

Lee shook his head from one side to the other as he moved his right hand down as he slid the iron bar into his pocket and then replied
"And I can say the same about you. Thinking about it is not going to work. Like you said, everything's changed and so have you. I want to know that you'll not throw a fit and destroy the book anyway."

"Tch, I'm not a child. I can control my temper. I'm always legit unless you give me a reason not to be. The only reason i can really think of is leaving me." Dawn stepped away from Lee leaving about a good 17 feet between them.

Lee let out a deep breath as he heard what she said. From the way she was acting, she was a child but if he tried to say that she might just prove him even more right. If only he would have finished the damned book in the first place then this would not have been a problem. He looked at the distance and then spoke
"And this is really reassuring, almost like you don't trust me. You switching so far from just a few moments ago."

"It's hard to trust someone you haven't seen in years." Dawn spoke and backed away more.

Lee watched her take a step back and slowly let himself take a step forward as he slowly rose his hands up to show that he did not mean any harm as he replied
"And i could say the very same over you but I'm not. To have done what I did today was proof that I tried and succeeded in bringing our friendship back."

"So that doesn't mean your gonna get your book back. Your trying to make nice and I'm not gonna give it you just like that." Dawn looked at Lee who said he didn't mean any harm, she highly doubted it.

Lee slowly took in a deep breath and then rose his right hand to his forehead. There was no way around it so he looked to his left and then to his right as he made sure that there was no one else around to hear the words. He then looked back to her and spoke
"Have you ever wondered what would happen if millions of hollows and soul's were forced together into one spot?"

"A lot of destruction to the people." Dawn shrugged

She never really thought, she knew how to kill hollows before they could hurt innocent people, but even being a member of the 12th division in the past she never asked such a question.

Lee slowly moved his left hand up and acted as if he held some sort of sphere in it. He kept his eyes on Dawn as he spoke
"We know that hollows are a race of creatures which are born from Human souls who, for various reasons, do not cross over to Soul Society after their death and stay in the Human World for too long. They are corrupt spirits with supernatural powers that devour the souls of both living and deceased Humans."
He slowly rose his right hand and mimicked his left hand and continued
"Soul's are spiritual beings in the that reside in Soul Society. Many Souls live in the Rukongai and are not allowed into the Seireitei. While many Souls are deceased Humans from the Human World, it is known that they can be born within the Soul Society as well."
He then slowly moves his hands near one another and speaks
"What do you think would happen if you were able to take these two completely opposite things and put them into something else?"

Dawn grew a little impaitent as Lee explained...

"I don't wanna guess, just tell me what your getting at and why this book is so important." Dawn looked over at Lee, obviously not in the mood for games.

Lee let out a deep breath as she rushed him. Of course she wouldn't have the mind span of things that are common knowledge. He turned his fingers toward one another and then let his fingers interlock as he then continued
"It would make something so powerful that even the most impossible things could be made real. That book tells how it can be done, I've been reading into it and deciphering and putting together how one could do it and I think I'm close."

Dawn learned so much in the 12th Division, she heard about this awhile ago when a member of the 12th was actually in the lab so much he never came out. She looked at the book and closed her eyes...

"This can't be the same book. It wasn't this color and it was thicker, filled with notes." Dawn mumbled

Dawn thought back, she remember the lab setting on fire, but the body was never found, the book was found but then someone else took it and restarted the project somewhere else. Dawn remember a computer flashdrive still being in intact during the fire, as if someone used a powerful kido shield to prevent anything from burning. But she doesn't recall being able to look at it.

Lee watched as Dawn looked down at the book and then said something that he did not have the chance to actually hear. He slowly let his hands pull themselves apart as he placed his left hand down to his side as he slowly rose his right hand outward toward Dawn and then paused as he spoke
"I told you why I need that book, can I have it back now Dawn?"

Dawn was basically stuck in thought. She wasn't sure if this was the book or it was something more important. Dawn shook her head.

"Tell me, where did you get this book?" Dawn asked as she studied the binding.

Maybe someone changed the color and took out the notes. But where did the notes go?

Lee watched as she shook her head and went through so many curses in his head that he lost count or even if they were. He knew this was going to be drawn out. He kept his hand held out toward her but kept himself in his position as he spoke
"I found it within the confines of the 12th Division inside the Shinigami Research Institute."

Dawn looked at Lee, shocked.

"That...that area is restricted. There was a fire in that area. What could possibly possese you to go over there!?" Dawn snapped

This book was the one they never found, but to see it in perfect condition shocked her.

"Where the hell are the notes that was in this book?" Dawn yelled

Lee listened to her blow up over the subject. And she said she wasn't going to act childish. He slowly moved his right hand back and placed it onto the middle of his glasses and pushed them onto his face as he leaned his head down as he replied, a shimmer of light gleamed across them
"Restricted? At the time, everyone was running around everywhere and I was trying to help. I just so happened to come across a rather odd looking book. I flipped through it and it caught my interest. As for the mass of notes, they were unimportant. Warnings about one thing and things that might help here and there. It was all things that I could keep in mind. That book is what I had put together to memorize what I couldn't. Some things are harder to keep in mind than others."

"Try to help!? You stole evidence!"

"The notes were important! Warnings were there for a reason! This book would have helped the investigation if you didn't take it!" Dawn snapped

"Tampering with evidence makes you an accessory to the crime!"

Lee slowly let his head move itself from left to right ever so much as he moved his left hand onto the bottom of his right elbow and then spoke
"Evidence? If it was truly evidence, why was the word not sent out to the other squads that such an important thing was missing? And what will you do now that I was accessory to the crime?"
He slowly moved his right fingers onto the center of his glasses and pulled them down slightly as his eyes shifted back toward her

"Because if word got out that such a thing really existed. then the rest of the squads would freak out, causing mass chaos. Everyone would panicked, this is a 12th Division crime scene and ours to deal with!"

Dawn looked over at Lee, she wasn't sure what to do with him. The evidence was in her pocket, the team she was in before broke up, Haji and the rest of the members were MIA! All the stress made her fall to her knees, she couldn't believe she was holding something that meant so much destruction.

What would Haji tell me to do?

Lee watched as she fell down to her knees after she spoke of the trouble telling the other squads would have done. He then thought of moving himself forward but the fact that she still had it made things hard. He slowly let his right hand pull his glasses from his face and then spoke
"Would it really do any good to bring up this forgotten subject? That book would only bring up a power struggle between the squads, the 12th division would be targeted for having such knowledge. I'm just one person, what could I possibly do?"

Dawn looks down at the floor.

"Thats a famous line, what can one person do? Really? The person who was suppose to be in the fire was so close, if it wasn't for the fire he would have made a break through. Haji told me, to watch over this guy because he was one of the smartest, he graduated top of his class. But someone most have found out, must have told someone. Then one night the place was on fire. I kept the fire under control with a kido but Haji told me the book was taken and there was no body. After a few months Haji and the rest of the team disappeared, I was basically by myself. I didn't know whether to let it go or hunt for the person. But As months pasted I realized I the job was too big for me and I let it go. The only remaining was this book and a computer."

Dawn started to think about Haji... Dawn if you ever find the book, don't report it to the other divisions. You can get in trouble, if you find it and for some reason I'm not around keep the book. Its important.
