Ashes (Invite)

There was rain, darkness, then a blinding light, the next thing he knew, he was running for his life, holding her hand, she tripped and he looses grip of her, falling himself. He yelled her name, his head bleeding from unknown origin, he yelled her name again, reaching for her hand, she did the same, trying to reach for his, but the next thing they knew there was bright light engulfing the both of them, he was dead, and he knew it, he got her hand, but it was too late, she turned to ashes only living the ring he gave to her... Safe in his hands.

Everything after the light was darkness...


"let's do something today."
"Where do you wanna go, what do you want to do?"

They were at the meadow again. There was no reply from her, then she was gone, he panicked, calling her name several times, turning his head directions, she caught him with her arms, tightly wrapped around him.

"Wake up..." She whispered his name in a soft loving tone.

"What are you talking about?"

Tears fell down from his cheeks, he touched it only to see blood. His face covered in blood. "You must live."

Before his eyes, she was disappearing. "WAIT!" he called her name again, reaching for her hand which touched his, but he only had a ring in his hands, she was no more than light.

"Why..." he asked her... "Why not me... Why not us together..."

She didn't answer him, the darkness returned, and the freezing sensation became stronger, it was freezing, he woke up, breathing heavily, seeing the already night sky above him, it was still raining, and rain was pouring over him.

He was alive.

Seven watched him from the shadows of the devastated building, he couldn't imagine what to say to him, he was dead to anyone, and he saved this man. What consequence does it bring to him? Saving one human life doesn't make a difference, he's learned that from his time living in this world. He can only live in search for someone, and yet he helped this person, a thing he swore not to do for decades now.

"You're awake now." From the dark, Seven spoke, a low terrifying voice. "You're not insane, she was here a moment ago... She begged me... to help you."

"What... What happened to me?" was his first words, the world still blurry, drenched under the pouring rain of the sky that only showed darkness. "Where.. Where's..." He sat up, searching for the voice who spoke to him, he looked around the darkness of the desolated building. He didn't know where he was, nor why he was there, or what had happened to him, He only knew one thing, a thing he didn't want to know.

"Where is she?"

"She..." Seven said slowly, escaping from the darkness, his voice crawling from the depths of hell, hitting all the low tones in a really bad way. "Is dead." he said, in the most terrifying voice possible.

He delivered the news brutally, no pauses, just stone cold reality. "You're still in London, old London, well, no one can tell the difference now."

"What?" the images kept flashing through his head, the light, the darkness, the tears, the screams. He knew what happened, but he didn't believe it himself, if not for the very evidence before his eyes. But one question bothered him most, who was this guy? If there's one thing he couldn't remember, it was encountering him.

"You saved me?" he asked.

"Not me." Seven sat on what looked like a refrigerator on its side, the door opened half way, Seven kicked it close before checking the mans head. "She did." he explained further, taking something from his pocket then applying it on his head. "This will hurt... A lot." he said, long after he did.

The stranger was not kidding, it did hurt him, a burning sensation that was neither good, nor bad. He gasped and wailed from he pain. What did he mean by "She did."

Who saved him? "Wh... What happened?" He asked, slumping down on his back unwillingly.

"Nothing happened." Seven explained, standing up reaching for his pocket once more. He took a cigarette from it and lit it with just his right index finger. "Looks like... The shaking stopped, you should be celebrating... You are alive after all."

When he had enough strength, he sat up again, pulling his body out from its sorry state. "I should get going." He said, seeing a weird flash again, but it was only in his head, a side effect from the light. He found out that he couldn't stand up, his legs lost its mobility, he fell on his chest, coughing blood.

"Go back to what?" Seven laughed sarcastically, not even looking at the man falling flat on his face. "There's nothing to return to. Not even a place to go to when you pass. Ahh hell, what do you know.." Seven threw the cigarette and stomped on it. "Quit lying to your self... and see the truth." Seven walked up to him, this time helping him up and putting him back on the aged mattress. "There's nothing to return to, or anywhere to go to. Everything... Is gone." Seven didnt want to do this, but he had no choice. He spun his hand from the darkness, and from the darkness came a deafening sound that would knock a normal human out upon hearing it.

A high pitched tune suiting to the eyes knocked him out, and strangely enough, he felt relieved, "death" he thought, and accepted it whole heartedly, but it wasn't, turns it, it's just what he needs at the moment.

"Goodnight night walker, for when day comes you would know what to do." Seven crouched before him, wondering why he did what he did. "day" he found the thought funny, knowing fully well how long it has been night. "It's been a whole day now without daylight... Maybe he did succeed..." Seven sighed. "A step closer to success, a step closer to oblivion." He looked out from what looked like a huge punch hole which served as a window. "Life kinds sucks for us humans, doesn't it?" he laughed, never looking back again.
