Welcome to the Sekigahara Rifle and Cannon Training and tactics area
As you may note, warfare has changed quite vastly in our era, and we here in the 7th have done our best to keep up with these changes. Here on the Sekigahara Field Range officers learn the tactics and skills required in order to function in battle as part of a rifle or cannon artillery unit. There are multiple ways in which these weapons of war function, and here in the 7th, we are working to maximize the advantage the invention of gun powder has brought us, in our battles with the Hollow.
The available weapons for traning are as follows:
Our rifle styles are the standard Matchlock, single shot Tanegashima Rifles:
We also use smaller, easy to handle Tanegashima Pistols:
We practice loading, maintaining and operating these weapons here on our firing range:
Our cannons come in two different styles; Cylindrical and Mortar.
The Mortar style cannons are large bowl shaped weapons which, when the fuse is lite, fire large, projectile, spherical shells.
These weapons are used for castle/fortress defense, as they are stationary.
The Cylindrical style Cannons are used to fire smaller projectiles, but offer use on the open battlefield, as they are mobile:
These weapons are tested and fired on the large open expanses near the mountian area, and range is determined in meters.
A small fort like structure is built here for training with the Mortars:
As you can see the fort is designed to look like Matsumoto Castle, and offers the perfect testing ground for sea and land cannon warfare, thanks to the natural lake.
This area is for training in these weapons only. It is not a battlefield for sparring, and none will be allowed. However multiple people may train here at once; but please be wary of one another.
