Appearance: Upon first glance, Cornelia is a rather voluptuous woman with full bust and backside that is proportioned by her tall stature and lean musculature gained from her training. Her face is usually set to a stern expression, but when relaxed or asleep, can be seen to be quite soft and pleasing to the eyes with straight nose, full lips highlighted by purple lipstick usually and sharp lavender hued eyes; which is over all framed by thick medium length wavy purple hair that is parted down the middle of her crown but usually swept to her right shoulder. She usually is clothed in the standard Shinigami uniform robes only changed by adding her Nagatsumi Clan heirloom, the Rasenringu.
Personality: Cornelia's mind is very complicated on the inside, always calculating her actions and the actions of others and how to properly respond to them, as a Nagatsumi, a Soul Reaper, a sister, etc. As a noble, she was taught to always act a certain way, especially with certain other people, yet she still carries a bit of rebelliousness within her that she battles with. She can never fully relax in any given situation, always having to think about the repercussions of her actions; as she would not be the only one affected by them. While she is usually able to be quite cold and ruthless should the situation call for it, she also has her soft spots. She dotes on her younger sister, has a soft spot for her adoptive father and she is also partial to children, even if they are just barely under-aged. Some of her closer comrades and friends often refer to her as a 'mother hen'. Sometimes this does not exactly endear her with the 'children' she is mothering, but she will always feel the need to protect them from even the littlest things. But while she has her soft side, she has an equally hard side. She admires and despises Makina, the Nagatsumi Clan head, in equal parts for her position and how she uses it. But never talks back to the matriarch unless it concerns Euphemia. She is allowed to be herself most when she is in battle, having a more fierce personality normally.

Character Story:
Cornelia and her younger sister, Euphemia, were brought together to the Rukongai after they died in the Human World together. She didn't know how she knew, but she just knew that Euphemia was her sister. She tried to take care of her baby sister as best she could, and that need to protect was what helped her discover her spirit energy. It was not long after this that Cornelia and her sister were under an attack from a Hollow when a member of the Noble Clan Nagatsumi saved them. Kyon Nagatsumi was the brother of the Clan's head, Makina Nagatsumi. Afterwards, seeing the promise that the older sister showed, he adopted them into his noble family. This did not go over well with the rest of the clan, but Makina allowed it in the end, knowing that the girls would be useful tools for the Clan. But the condition was that Cornelia had to earn both her and her sister's keep. As Euphemia had no spiritual energy whatsoever, Cornelia would have to excel enough or the both of them. And if not, Makina was sure that Euphemia would make a lovely bride to some other noble family's son. Cornelia vowed not to disappoint and immediately began her training in not only soul energy, but to be taught how to act like proper nobility. The first thing that she learned in joining the Nagatsumi was to never bring dishonor upon the Nagatsumi name or its Clan members. After attending the Shinigami Academy, she joined the Gotei 13 and worked her way up through the ranks, earning a name for herself not only as a Nagatsumi, but as a powerful Soul Reaper. Her sister grew into a lovely woman and was rumored to be un-courtable due to her protective older sister and adoptive father. Cornelia started out in the 5th division like many other Nagatsumi's and rose much quicker than her fellows, though many whispered it was due to her noble standing rather than any particular talents. It grated on her nerves, even when she finally became Captain. She tried to ignore it and tried to prove herself through her abilities, but she was still granted certain leniencies that others were not and began to doubt herself. Had she only gained her position through political weight? She loathed being under Makina's thumb, but did not detest her clan. They had taken her and her sister in when they were most vulnerable and they had found family with them. But she didn't want to be ruled by their shadow. So she gained an audience with her adoptive aunt and stated that she would be stepping down from the 5th Division's Captain Seat to Vice Captain. "Have you no thought for your family? It would disgrace our Clan for you to throw away your position." The matriarch stated with narrowed eyes. "I throw away nothing Aunt. I merely step down so that I may earn my position once again on my own terms. In addition, I am granted certain freedoms as a Vice Captain that allow me to conduct my Soul Reaper duties easier than as Captain. I will not disgrace my family." Makina's face became more tense when she realized how serious her niece was but then relaxed. "Then I hope you'll have time in your busy Vice Captain's schedule to attend your sister's wedding, should she get engaged." Bringing up their old agreement, the matriarch was sure that this constant trump card would work. However Cornelia knew it would come eventually and responded easily, "I'm afraid that weddings are hard to arrange if any man that becomes engaged with a woman suddenly has a terrible accident." Cornelia's eyes were sharp and Makina knew there was absolute truth in them, this was no bluff. Sniffing in annoyance and irritation, the older woman knew that there was nothing she could very well do to stop her. At least not now. Her demeanor suddenly turned more complacent. "I'm a busy woman dear and it's no concern of mine what you do. But you have my blessing regardless. Be sure to earn your Captaincy back soon." The magenta haired woman bowed low, recognizing a dismissal and replied, "Thank you dearest Aunt."
RP Sample:
The night is silent and the air is still. A Menos Grande discreetly enters the Human World through a dimensional tear whilst a poor plus cries to himself along with a small child soul, and before even fully emerging from the tear, it proceeds to shoot its hand out at the nearby plus' in order to take hold of them and shortly after devour and as it's hand closes in, words softly speak, almost none existent "Dissipate, Sunano Senshi."
The hollows hand crushes the two souls with seemingly no room for them to be spared. But, soon, something begins to hit the ground from the hand of the massive creature. Sand. The sand quickly bursts and forces the hand of the hollow away from the souls as they rest in a small dome of hardened sand. The souls then begin to run away from the large Hollow, so it proceeds to give chase. A stream of sand appears behind it and wraps around its arm "Sabaku Kyū" and the sand quickly implodes on itself to remove the Menos Grande's left arm, but the Hollow simply regenerates it once freed.
The Hollow continues its assault, almost smashing the fleeing souls with its new arm, but they are quickly covered and and pulled to a nearby tree, to get away from there assailant. However, as they does so, the top half of the Menos Grande vanishes. The souls soon realizes this too late, for the top half flanks them, and prepares to strike them with a point-blank attack with a cero. Before it can do so however, its mouth is surrounded by a swirling sand and parts of its mask are beginning to ripped away, its tongue tone out in its rage. Roaring out, it attempts to regenerate its tongue, but is silenced when a blast of sand forces it back.
"Ryūsa Bakuryū." The massive hollow stands to it's full height but is soon dwarfed by the sudden appearance of a massive tsunami of sand that soon comes crashing down upon it and washing it to the ground and back. A pair of soft looking hands place themselves above the sand as the rumbling of the hollow can be heard as if it was about to rise from its grave. "Sabaku Taisō." Cornelia slams both hands down onto the sand, creating powerful shock waves that compress the sand. Anything buried in the sand is subsequently crushed, the large hollow being no exception to this as soon, the sand begins to get blow away by an invisible wind, all leading to the single captain as she slowly stops in front of the small children whom run to her, like kids to their mother after a bad dream.

Zanpakuto Name: Satetsu (Sand Iron)
Inner World: Cornelia's inner world is mostly a vast rocky dessert, but at the center there is an oasis with a city built around it with many buildings, homes, stalls and even a small castle. However as it is still a spirit world, it is completely uninhabited other than for Satetsu and Cornelia.
Sealed Appearance: A bright shining blade, thin in thickness, but long and very slightly curved. Its golden hilt is wrapped in white silk and its equally golden hand guard is delicate yet durable, shaped in a teardrop around the hilt.
Shikai
Name: Satetsu Shigure (Sand Iron Drizzle)
Shikai Release Phrase: Sandoburasuto, Satetsu Shigure! (Sandblast, Sand Iron Drizzle!)
Released Appearance: In its Shikai, Satetsu Shigure transforms into an even longer 8-part segmented blade. It can serve as a regular sword just as easily, thanks to Cornelia's swordsmanship.
Shikai Special Ability: Satetsu Shigure's segments can grow in number almost without limit. The segments are connected by a stretchable thread, making Satetsu Shigure more useful as a whip than an actual sword
Bankai
Name: Satetsu Kaihō (Sand Iron World Method)
Bankai Release Phrase: Sunaarashi, Satetsu Kaiho! (Sandstorm, Sand Iron World Method!)
Released Appearance: The sword can take on many shapes to fit Cornelia's will but it will usually just form into sand with no real definite form.
Bankai Special Ability: To activate it, Cornelia places her hand atop the flat side of her blade and runs her hand down it, the sword scatters into sand and falls to the ground. Cornelia possesses the ability to manipulate the sand, typically moving it through the air to serve various purposes as well as grinding the ground's sand into more sand for her to use.

Name: Suna no Tate
State: Bankai

Description: Whenever Cornelia is about to be harmed, a shield of sand will automatically surround and protect her. The sand will react regardless of Cornelia's will, even protecting her from self-inflicted injuries. The shield is formidable in both speed and strength — capable of withstanding considerably strong attacks and blocking fast projectiles. The Suna no Tate and the Suna no Yoroi together were known as Cornelia's "Absolute Defense". Cornelia can completely surround herself in the shield to further increase her defensive capabilities. She then uses the Third Eye to watch her opponents' movements and control sand as necessary to battle them. In addition to being extremely dense, this sand-sphere can form spikes from its surface to spear any would-be attacker. This formation can be used in mid-air.
Downside: However, it could be defeated with extreme speeds and a great amount of brute force. No cooldown.
Name: Suna no Yoroi

Description: Using this technique, Cornelia can cover herself in a compacted layer of sand, providing an additional defense should her Suna no Tate fail; combined, these two are known as Cornelia's "Absolute Defense". This armor is close to the skin and may even take the form of her clothes and skin in color and appearance.
Downside: Though quite effective, maintaining the armor requires a large amount of spiritual energy and stamina. Furthermore, it is nowhere as resilient as the Suna no Tate, since it easily breaks away upon impact, indicating that the sole purpose of the armor is to absorb impact channeled unto Cornelia's body during battle. Another weakness is the additional weight of the sand which leads to decreased levels of speed and mobility. 1 post cooldown.
Name: Daisan no Me
State: Bankai
Terms of Usage:(Is the technique activated, or can you do it without any special terms or conditions)
Description: With reiatsu, Cornelia connects an eye made of sand to her optic nerve, which enables her to know what happens in the artificial eye's field of vision, this is genuinely a third eye for her. She can control the size of the eye depending on its use. Its main purpose is spying, since it can form and disperse in any location on command. Cornelia also uses it when she completely surrounds herself with her Suna no Tate so she can see what's happening outside of the protective dome.
Downside: In order to use it however she must keep one of her eyes closed for the duration of the technique. It has a 6 post use and a 3 post cooldown.
Name: Suna Shigure
State: Bankai

Description: After clotting together sand into countless small lumps, Cornelia uses them to attack an enemy from every direction. Because all the sand lumps are controlled by spiritual energy, it is possible to commence an attack without any blind spots. This technique is often used as lure in battle, distracting an opponent and leaving them vulnerable to an attack from below. In order for this to work, the enemy is first made to face upwards with the sand rain, simultaneously bringing their field of activities under Cornelia's control. Then, a bold move is made from underfoot. To make sure the rain hits its mark, it can be combined with Sabaku Kyū to immobilize the target.
Downside: The attack is only so powerful and is mainly used to either get the target's attention, annoy or if dropped in thick enough clumps and from a higher height, it can cause welts and painful bruising. Has a 4 post cooldown.
Name: Sabaku Kyū
State: Bankai

Description: With her ability to control sand, Cornelia encases her opponents in a large amount of the special reiatsu-infused sand (in the form of hands reaching/crawling at the opponent) created by the activation of her Bankai, immobilizing them. It can be used to suffocate an opponent or Cornelia will cause the sand to implode and crush whatever is within it. According to Cornelia, when used to kill a person, the death is so quick that there isn't even time for the victim to feel any pain. The pressure also produces a sizable fountain of blood. Cornelia can control the pressure used in the attack, which allows her to either break bones or completely liquefy an opponent. This technique allows the sand to move at a much fast rate to catch her enemy.
Downside: She must have a clear line of sight of the person and keep them their in order to actually use the skill. Can remain active for 3 posts with a 3 post cooldown.
Name: Suna no Kanchi
State: Bankai

Description: Suna no Kanchi is a contact type sensory-technique. By dispersing specialized sand into a specific area, Cornelia is able to discern the presence of bodies that comes into direct contact with it. This sensing sand can be spread across a wide terrain, or even float in the air allowing aerial foes to be detected. Once the sand comes in contact with a person, it will wrap itself around them, rendering even invisible targets, visible.
Downside: During this skill, she can not move from her position and the sand that wraps itself around the enemy does no damage what-so-ever. It has a 2 post usage and a 3 post cooldown.
Name: Suna Bunshin
State: Bankai

Description: This technique is used to create clones in the shape of herself or others using sand as a medium. The clone's form can be changed instantly into sand, and the enemy's body can be trapped. Its many applications with long-range attacks can have it act as a lure and a decoy.
Downside: Should one of her clones be hit with enough force, it would simply disintegrate into the sand it was originally made from. 5 post usage and a 3 post cooldown.
Name: Ryūsa Bakuryū
State: Bankai
Terms of Usage:(Is the technique activated, or can you do it without any special terms or conditions)
Description: This technique creates a massive amount of sand in the form of a wave, covering and "drowning" the opponent in an ocean of sand. From the sand Cornelia creates with her sword, she grinds the rocks and minerals from underground into a large sea of sand and manipulates it like a tsunami that engulfs absolutely all the things in her line of sight. This raging sea deals a lot of damage by itself, but one can further take advantage of the sand for a second and a third consecutive assault. Cornelia can control the sand, allowing her to attack her opponent while they attempt to outrun the wave. This technique has the added effect of changing the landscape. This is usually followed by the Sabaku Taisō to finish off her foes.
Downside: Cornelia can use no other skills during this attack and all skills active when Ryūsa Bakuryū is started quickly come to a stop, regardless. Has a 1 post usage and a 5 post cooldown.
Name: Sabaku Taisō

Description: This technique is a specialty of Cornelia's, where she makes the land a stage for her representation. This technique is identical to Sabaku Kyū in that the stream of sand crushes the enemy. But as far as scale goes, this is in a totally different league. One may be able to hold their own against a single attack, but multiple obliteration's are where this technique shines. Cornelia slams both hands down onto the sand, creating powerful shock waves that compress the sand. Anything buried in the sand is subsequently crushed.
Downside: This takes a massive amount of spiritual energy and can only be used in quick and sudden bursts. A max of three times a battle.
Name: Zekkō

Description: Cornelia can use her spiritual power to levitate the disconnected, detached or broken segments, they glow and sharpen with spiritual energy. They surround the opponent and execute an omni-directional attack of blades of spiritual energy.
Downside: The attack leaves Cornelia defenseless whilst the blades attack and shortly after as they regroup back into her blade. A 2 post usage and a 4 post cooldown.
Name: Dochū Senkō
State: Bankai
Terms of Usage:(Is the technique activated, or can you do it without any special terms or conditions)
Description: This technique changes earth into fine sand by channeling her Bankai into it, allowing Cornelia to dig or swim though it. This effect goes around the body (not just the hands), making it just large enough for a person to move through. Cornelia can pinpoint where the enemy would be, despite being underground, by sensing the sand's movement of her Bankai. She can also sense what is happening on the surface and use that information to launch a surprise attack on the enemy. She can also hide deep in the ground, escaping to a depth where the enemy can't reach. It also appears that after digging, the ground can be returned to its original state, leaving no trace of where she entered the earth
Downside: The skill has no offensive powers and is used for either escape of the use of a surprise attack. She is unable to use other offensive skills whilst completely underground. A 4 post cooldown after surfacing.
