Hey, everyone, this is where members of the 9th division can post the details of their life, both in the living world and as a shinigami.
First, give us your name and age in Soul Society (remember, everyone in SS is really about 100 years older than any human).
Next, please tell us about your life when you were a human in the living world. What was your job? What was your family like? What kind of person were you? How did you die?
Then tell us about your life as a soul. Where did you grow up? Did you have family? How did you decide to become a shinigami? What was the Academy like for you (how were classes, what were your favorites and least favorites)?
Finally, please share how you came to the 9th division-were you accepted right after graduation or did you transfer from another division? What are your goals for yourself while in the 9th division?

- Name: Kobayashi Toshi
Age: 687
Life as a human: Toshi was the younger child of a loving family on whom tragedy had fallen. One winter evening, her elder brother and mother had died in a terrible car accident. Toshi and her father were getting along all right after that and soon she entered high school. When she was in her final year there, her father got cancer and died two weeks before graduation. Toshi was at a loss for what to do when she saw a military recruiting poster and decided to look into it. She did an officer program while in college and joined the Marines officially after obtaining her degree. She was a quiet, often somber, person but one who deeply loved her friends. War engulfed her nation and she went to battle with her comrades. They were ambushed while on an intelligence gathering mission. Knowing the success of the mission was critical to the success of the war, Toshi offered to stay behind and draw out the enemies so that her comrades could escape. In doing this, she perished.
In Soul Society, Toshi lived in 4th district of Northern Rukongai and lived with a boy who she viewed as an elder brother. They got along well together and helped each other out a lot. When he was old enough, he applied for the Academy and was accepted. Toshi was happy for him and eager to follow in his footsteps. In her first-year at the Academy, which was his 5th, however, he perished while on a mission in the living world. Toshi was devastated but all the more determined to become a shinigami. She excelled at sword fighting and hand to hand fighting, but was not the best at kidou.
Upon graduating from the Academy, Toshi entered the 7th division but after a few years there, transferred to the 9th, where she moved up the ranks quickly. After many years she had made it to 3rd seat but still wasn't completely satisfied. When her Captain suddenly left, Toshi, like the rest of her division was confused and uncertain. The Vice-Captain of the 9th had been offered a Captain's slot, but he chose a different division. Toshi trained hard and achieved bankai and was accepted as the 9th division Captain. She resolved to make it the best she could.
