Dumb Idea, but still. Empty Dumb Idea, but still.

Post by JasonVierus Tue May 11, 2010 1:07 pm

I was just wondering if I could get some ideas. I know it's not really smart to try and probably wouldn't work well, but does anyone know a way a person in America could get a One-Shot in something like Jump SQ or w/e it's called? I had an idea, but I don't know how I would be able to get it over there and read by anyone in Japan, nor would I know how to write it in Japanese >.>... Also, I can't draw xD So this wouldn't work out anyway, but I will give you all the general idea of the manga.

It is a game manga. Throughout the years, there have always been people with abilities above the normal persons. They had knowledge beyond their years, strength beyond compare, or even an aptitude for a weapon they had never held. This was due to what is called a "Soul Guardian" in their body. A Soul Guardian is a soul who has died but had been good enough, or in may cases Evil enough, to have their soul sent back to earth in another person's body. These guardians have a strong will and, if the body they are in won't let them follow their instincts, they will slowly corrupt the mind or kill their host. In order to prevent deaths like this from happening and to prevent mindless slaughter, a new way of fighting was discovered. The Soul Guardian usually remains dormant until the Host and the Guardian's Age (Guardians age at Death) are about equal, at which point the Guardian ages inside you as you age.

An ancient way of fighting found in Ancient Ruins throughout the world. The ruins showed of a way for the Soul Guardians to be brought out of the soul and allowed to fight, however, to release the guardian, one had to find one of the points that allowed the release. These areas were called Crimson Pools, so named because of the thousands of men and women to die on the area. A Crimson Pool is a natural occurrence anywhere a major battle has taken place. The next step to having a fight between Soul Guardians was "The Wager". A person must, in order to release their guardians, willingly bet their "Past", "Present", and/or "Future" on the outcome of the fight.

Wagering your past is betting all of you and your soul guardian's knowledge and the memories of you from everyone close to you. If you win this fight, your Soul Guardian absorbs the knowledge of your enemies Soul Guardian as well as their fighting style.
Wagering your present is betting your easy life. If you loose when betting your present, your life will turn into hell and you will have horrible luck for 5 years. Winning this fight grants you as much luck as the loser would have had for those 5 years for your next 5 years. which of course makes you more lucky in battle.
The last Wager is your future. Wagering your future is the most clear cut wager. You wager years of your life. If you win, you gain that many years and your Soul Guardian can stay in the "Prime of their Life" for that much longer, instead of aging with you.

Well, it's a really stupid idea, but I was just wondering what you guys thought of it. Thats only background information, though and I didn't really get much else. Still trying to think of how I would draw it and such. Not to mention getting it to Japan..

I think you should start out just writing it right now, write a couple of stories, then publish them online, see if you get any good feedback on it, then you can gradually learn how to draw and learn japanese, then you could pursue it further, starting a manga series, even if it's only a one-shot, will be a very lengthy and time consuming process, i'm sure you'll make it if you stick with it, so best of luck to ya!!

Problem is, a story and a manga are drastically different. If the stories good, it will need length, depth, etc.c.. and it will end up with certain elements a manga doesn't have. A manga, likewise, has parts not very story-ish. But oh well. I will write it here and then re-read it a few times, cuz I know it wont be good enough xD

Well, most people write them down first, as in a story. Then they go and make a manga of the first chapter, editing things and if its not good after re-reading it, they edit it and make it better. If you look at how Naruto was in the manga in the very beginning, it wasn't that good in art style. Then as it progresses, it got way better and awesomer with better drawing style.
Same with bleach. Ichigo looked bad at the beginning and now look at the recent manga of the characters, just plain epic IMO
