Chapter 5A: Of Strength and of Skill

What was the term that she used. Ah yes! 'Kill with extreme prejudice.' No negotiations, no qualms... Kill on sight. Be it in cold blood or showing no mercy, it does not matter. These two powerful knights of the Seireitei were given the order to kill these monsters that even monsters fear. Asgier blackbane, and Shaoji Zhang... Will they succeed in this task? Only time can tell, old friend.

As The two captains entered took their positions, they saw that the children were not interested with them, almost like they were invisible to the two. They did not seem to think of the pair as a threat. That or their top priority was devouring hollows, as they did with the unfortunate ones so far.

Asgier stood watching as hollows fled for their lives, some too slow and being devoured. The children scurried and ran past them without a second glance, could they not see that he was there within arms reach? Asgier was beginning to become annoyed by these little buggers and lept into action, ''Let's go Shaojie.Shine, Star Driver.''

With that he involved himself in the fight, launching himself at the closet child about to sink its teeth into a hollow. He stamps down on top of it an moves his foot around to make a satisfying 'squish' sound. He then immediately releases the full brunt of his reiastu. This show of power was sure to grab their attention, if that wasn't enough he added this in,

''WHY EAT APPETISERS WHEN YOU CAN EAT FROM THE CHIEFS TABLE!!''

Two blades appear at his back and slowly rotate clockwise, he then begins his assault on the children, the monsters that kill without mercy. Asgier will show them the same courtesy, he starts to smash, cripple, slam, batter, and tear his way through the streams of children that are in the area. He must maintain their attention, he must protect the hollows that are here, he must kill them all. These were his orders, create a distraction, his resolve for these orders, flawless.

Shaojie sighed softly as he looked down at the new breed of hollows to him 'Am I really going stop these hollows... to save other hollows... What gone wrong?'. Shaojie watched Asigear grow more restless to what we where seeing. Shaojie couldn't help be feel numb about what we where seeing. He didn't care about either set of hollows he soon kill both then want to see one survive. Shoajie stop Asigear as he went to go down.

"What I will do is stay up here and watch, this feels like a trap either those hollows are very strong or their elites are setting a trap. Either way you got a good escape so fall back to me if anything goes wrong. Something here doesn't feel right to me."


Shoajie sighed as he watched on the other roofs and in the sky doing his best have a full view of Asigear and his surroundings.

Ever the cautious one Shaojie. Perhaps that was a gift, or maybe it was a curse. Are you struggling with what she said to you at 1st division. Are the words causing you to question the the wishes of your commander? And what of you asgier. the faster you rushed headfirst into danger, the more likely you may die. You think of your self as a shining light in the darkness. but even stars can be extinguished.

The moment the fist was smacked against the face of the child, the entire body squished against the foot, popping like an over due puss filled spot. The children that were in a local area stopped as they turned to see who caused this death. To them this was a monster, a monster with shining arms and legs, killing their kind like a cruel god of death.

They began to rush towards him to try and end his life. twenty of them in total made a beeline towards this captains, ten attacked the man of the assault while the other nine began to scream and scuttle towards the captain of 11th division. Asgier attacks not only alerted the children to Blackbane's location, but also of the fighting squad's captain.

As for the one child that did not attack either of them, it began to devour the corpse of it's kind. It's flesh, it's entrails... Nothing was being left.

Shaojie watched curiously as they reminded him like ants. not one sound not one look, yet each one knew exactly what it needs to do. Shaojie eyes widen spotting the lone feeder. The other nineteen where distractions! he taught to himself drawing his blade barking out orders to Asigear. They did not have time to argue.

"Asigear! kill the feeder at the back! don't let it finish eating. The rest are distractions!

With that Shaojie jumped off the building he had preached himself on. "Solas shall bring my light" Shaojie long blade was in his his holding the top hilt in both hands. Shaojie does see them as ants in mind but respect the danger facing down nineteen anger hollows. He took a defensive position between the hollows and feeder. Any who try to pass the brutish captain would face his Assault. Shaojie was not messing around any that tried to pass would be swiftly killed if Shaojie could.

"They have a hive mind Asigear they won't need communicate like we do they got 20 pairs of eyes on us. We only got two so lets minimize them and careful not let them feed on their fallen"

Asgier fought these little monsters until he had finally caught their attention. As soon as they moved he heard Shaojie call out and watched as he joined the fray. He listened to shaojie's advice and gave a quick response,

''Tag!''

With those words Asgier sent out one of his swords into the back of shaojie. He would have felt no pain as the blade struck him and he will realise that the blade also does not hinder him in any way. Moments after the act a squish sound was heard from Asgier killing the feeding child. He then hesitates to attack further, he knows what Shaojie is capable of and does not wish to take kills away from him, but one of the children attacks him from a blind side and Asgier leaps towards it, crushing it between his elbow and his knee.

''You know, one big rolled up news paper would have done the trick here, but you are right something feels off, this is too easy.''

Asgier defends Shaojie from blind side attacks but allows the captain to gather as many stacks as he can for his Zanpakutou.

Of all the pair in soul society my only friend i found these two to be of kindred spirit. Different and yet the same. They face a hive mind and they swat them down like flies. Too easy they believe. MY dear shinigami. the battle is only just beginning. *chuckles*

Each of the children were struck down by the blade Of shaojie, like hot knife through butter, easilly slicing them to pieces. Each one mindless running into the blade edge of the captain almost like they did not even notice it was there. Why would they; fear was something they had no cause for. Their bodies piled up as they scattered around the air, landing on buildings on the street, invisible to the human eye. The gauge continued to rise higher and higher on the 11th captain zanpakutou, higher to what end? only these two men could possibly know what this meant.

As Asgier took care of the child that devoured the previous corpse, it not happen before the maw of the monsters opened to big onto the grieve of the captain. The result was the exact same; the child died, and there was a satisfying crunch noise at the child's body was sent flying, the face crushed inward.

As the corpse scattered around, more children were seen eacing the remains on the building tops on the street. how many were there? twenty? Thirty? One thing was for certain, Everywhere that they were seen. There was more of them. Why was it they broke from their attack against the hollows to eat of their kind? was it the scent of blood that was causing them to go into a frenzy? or something else?

Shaojie was watching the hollows come from the wood work as it seemed never stop as he quickly working throw his stacks. Shaojie soon had enough the magic number as he grinned. "Give me your arms Fuascailte!"

Shaojie sword flushed a bright light as his standing there with a serious look. His arms had been replaced with new ones. six foot in length and three wide. His arms looked like great shields on each arm with fingers on the ends. Shaojie was now now faster, stronger and tougher. The Pads on the knuckles ready for work.

Shaojie knew Asigear knew what he had just done. After all the 'bird' had first had experience with this bankia. Shaojie swung his giant arms started pounding throw the bodies of the hollow ants. Shaojie eyes narrowed in like predator hunting but here the prey coming to him in great numbers. He glance around after his shock waves from his fist give him a brief moment to check his surroundings.

"Asigear this is a kill box get out here! We need find out whats drawing them cause eventually something bigger might come. Try and figure out whats drawing them here. I got this down here for the moment at least."

After letting Shaojie take as many stacks as he could he too heard the magic words that meant the real fun would begin now. Asgier stood to the side, mostly because he didn't want to accidentally bump his head off the increase of Shaojies arms. He listened to what Shaojie had to say and nodded his head in agreement.

''OK. I'll take to the roofs then and eliminate as many as I can on the way. Don't worry if that blade in your back shatters, it'll come back to me a little longer that's all.''

With that Asgier takes to the roof tops and begins the slaughter of the children that lie on the roofs. One by one he crushes them, and he makes sure to double back to kill any that are feeding before he moves to another cluster of children. Every now and again he throws an eye in Shaojies direction keeping track of his position. He cannot help but wonder why these children are so easy to take care of. What kind of power did they secretly posses? Are they feeding for something bigger to feed on them? All these questions and no answers. He thinks about going onto the coms for a status report but decides against it as it was too early for any new information to be gathered in the chaos. Aki is probably too busy having 'fun' to remember that she has a mission, and Zatoichi is........... well Zatoichi, he doesn't expect to get a decent, let alone a straight, answer from him.

My my, those two are attracting the most attention. The bodies are piling up nice an high, as the power of each of these shinigami were in full display. I must wonder though, why was it so easy? Were they wishing to die because it was their cause to, or maybe it.... This is getting interesting my old friend

As the shinigami killed each of the children like it was nothing, an ear piercing scream was heard coming from below. the children began to break off from formation as they decided to feats on the remnant of those that died mere moments ago. All except one. This lone child seemed to be in a bit of a daze. It twitched as its tiny legs began to move as it began to grow in size. The legen began to extend out as it began to become longer. A creaking was being heard within the body. It screamed out almost like this was an agony filled metamorphosis.

Then it happened...

First the hide legs began to elongate and began to bend into shape, craking and breaking as they do. They could be seem to resembling human-like legs, in a sense. As it lurched forward it began to give yet another scream of pain as it's back bursted open. The remaining legs it may have possessed were no longer legs... But weapons to fight the shinigami. It was a cruel looking creature, more so because of one thing more than anything else; it looked angry.

Shaojie looked at this new creature as he checked and saw Asigear blade is still in him. He looked at his 'new' enemy as he looked around briefly to check any others transformed as well. He turned face his enemy looked angry as the captain could help but feel less then impressed. This thing of a hollow had Shaojie worried not cause of what it looks like or weapons. It fact that one seemed to do it freely at will. how long and how many other ways can these hollows 'grow'.

"Asigear I think you should have first go. You got a handy escape."


Shaojie took a defensive position keeping his guard up as he got ready for any other hollows to start transforming to act and not let them evolve like this one.

Asgiers attention was drawn to the writhing screams of this child transforming, it was a disgusting sight to behold. But one thing was for sure it did look more menacing and more ugly. As he looked on at this new creature another one of the children jumps at him and he just bats it away as Shaojie shouts over to him. It seems like a solid plan, and he does make a good point.

With that Asgier fights into range of this new creature and about five feet from it he vanishes. He does not leave the battle field however, he reappears above this new child and begins to plummet down to earth at an outrageous speed. His foot leading the plunge, a meteor like tail begins to show itself around Asgiers body. What the child would hear starts off as a low whistle but by the time it would look up that low whistle had become the sound of a missile hurtling into the ground. Before the impact this child would hear, hopefully, the last tow words of its existence, ''Stars Impact.''

The impact would cause a loud explosion like sound, and smoke engulfed the impact zone. Rocks and other debris flung themselves from the centre of this crushing attack. Once the dust and debris began to start to settle, the blade in Shaojies back shatters and Asgier appears behind him. The foot he used for the attack is still encased in a chunk of rock. Asgier easily kicks it apart as he moves to Shaojies right side. He casually places his hands on his hips and looks on into the destruction he caused with a smug sense of pride.

''Well. That looked like it went well.''
