Walking towards the general 7th division barracks was a young slender man. His body was framed with a strong look, broad shoulders, muscular biceps, and a well toned abdomen. Reaching the barracks, he stopped and called out formally. Zatoichi Taichō His voice was hollow and equally strong. Glancing once more over the structure. Someone has to be around, unless of course a captains meeting was going on, then of course the Fukutaichō would be around. So he called out once more. Shiro Fukutaichō His head rotated left, then right as he scanned the area. Brushing back the stray blond hairs the shinigami sat down and began to ponder on what to do if nobody was around. Quickly he drew his weapon, a minor offense in the eyes of central, however he cared less. The young man began to practice his advanced form of kendo, battōjutsu, or the utilization of fast movements and quick drawing techniques. He would continue this straining exercise until someone from the 7th appeared.

His time from arriving from the training grounds to the location in which he could feel the presence of this new visitor, the captain of seventh walks through the corridors until he finds the room in which the individual is waiting for someone to come and greet him. Zatoichi sees the new face and realizes the man standing before him looks to be a fresh shinigami wishing to join his squad as pleased as he is the captain shows his gratitude and introduces himself with clear understanding in the tone he is choosing to use. “Nice too meet you, I’m the captain of seventh division, Zatoichi Martinez. Who might you be?" Responding towards the new visitor, Zatoichi waits to see who this man is and what he is seeking. Standing tall and straight upright, the captain waits patiently showing a type of inner peace he holds to an extent.

The new shinigami stopped midway in his draw when he heard someone approach. Sweat had already coated his neck, arms, and body; the upper part of his shinigami garb was pulled exposing him. Quickly, the young man pulled his top up and bowed half way to the senior. Captain Martinez, I am fresh from the academy, Ven Namikaze. He stated as he sheathed his asauchi sword. Upon rising up, he looked directly into his opponents eyes. I wish to join squad 7 of the Gotei 13. Any challenge set forth is only a small obstacle that stands in my way of entry. The entire time he spoke, his body never twitched, nor did he blink. Ven knew not what the captain would do, whether he would test the will of him or if he would even allow entrance.

“Alrighty well I am not really going to be too much help at the moment but what I’ll have you do is take on a series of set exercises as they will prove to me what you can do right now then I’ll have to take on a dummy side practice hollow mission to give me a further observation of your entire set of strengths and weaknesses,” Zatoichi says towards the Ven who shows a lot of spirit with proving his worth and acceptance into this squad. The captain realizes he can't keep his vice captain stuck in a loop of his training since he'll need to continue to show him the guidence of progressing further with his training. "Please when you are ready to begin Ven let me know because i'll set up the first excercise and you can take that on and then will continue,"

Ven was ready mentally, his body tingled with how ready he was to prove himself. His hand has made it's way to his zanpaktou, his bright blue eyes skimmed the area in front before falling on the captain again. I am ready The young shinigami stated as his right hand gripped tighter on the hilt of the weapon. His knuckles had began to go white, his fingers felt cold, it wasn't fear that clutched at his emotions...it was excitement. Before he went to shinigami academy, he was a hired sword, a master of his trade. Once before he had even clashed blades with a captain, but that was before he suffered a damaging blow that crippled his reiatsu amount making him no stronger than a lesser seat. Sighing he drew his sword and held it looser, the color returning to his hand.

“Very well we shall see what you can do first and foremost, for now you will not show me what you know as far as what you can do with a sword. Please follow these directions and begin when you are certain that you are ready,” The captain of seventh says as he hands Ven instructions to start the first exercise when ready to do so. He realizes the longer he keeps his vice captain and the initial training he started with him he can risk keeping him from progressing further beyond.

Zatoichi waits for Ven to look over the scroll containing his first exercise and rules as well regulations needed on it to be followed to the letter. Once Ven is ready, Zatoichi will show him the place in which will be the area for his first exercise.

- You will be fighting a dummy comprised entirely of what you have yourself this is not a test to see if you can beat it. It’s merely a test to showcase to me and the vice captain what you can and cannot do. We want to understand the strengths and weaknesses you will have. It’s not a question rather what we do with this knowledge but it just helps us know in the future for understanding purposes to keep in mind.
This dummy will look pretty much like a wooden resemblance of a mannequin. Once you start the task the dummy will begin to mimic you exactly, for power, weakness, skill and tactics. This dummy will act and think exactly how you would.
The area in which you shall be fighting will be an area with enough space and room to let loose and you don’t have to worry about breaking or damaging any of the furniture as it’s a place used to train individuals like yourselves.
You will be judged on execution, style, creativity and most of all on the realism of what you are allowed to have and use in the starting and ending of this exercise.
Allowed to use in excercise
You only have a sword; no powers in the zanapkuto are even given or unlocked for you. Those are things you would learn to discover once you join seventh division.
You are allowed 3-5 flash steps though they will be very sluggish and uncoordinated but you can use these given flash steps how you think you can do them in.
No Demon arts (kidou) are even allowed in this exercise so please don’t attempt to do them you’re the exercise will be considered failed and you will have to repeat it again.
No natural skills are allowed as from the moment you start you don’t have anything competitive that makes you unique to the dummy or this exercise as far as your concerned everything you said you have or had in your back story will remain in the back story and will serve no justification just to give you an edge here. You will be treated as a fresh face straight out of the academy and put through the ringer.
The overall piece should be extinguished with clear understanding and with these rules kept in your mind at all times. For any reason should you have a question and want some advice please pm me first before you attempt to do something unsure of. Use word doc or office to proof read this and find any errors you might have that is if you can.
