    Jūnibantai Iroka Empty Jūnibantai Iroka

Post by Run Sat Jan 19, 2013 7:20 am

    (Shinigami KAMI NO MUSHA)

    Jūnibantai Iroka

"What's the worry? Let's gamble as the dice fall!"

    Basic Information:

    Human Name:
    None
Shinigami Name: Jūnibantai [十二番隊] Iroka [色香]
    Gender: Female
    Age: Unknown
    Division: 12 [Jūnibantai ]
    Rank: ?
    Residence: Seireitei

    Appearance:

Jūnibantai Iroka in general opinion is regarded as quite a looker. By description, Iroka is an attractive young woman with a slender yet rather curvaceous build, even though her height is just an unimposing smidgen under 5 feet and 2 inches. Her heart-shaped face possesses large, baby-blue eyes, a smattering of freckles over her small nose, and cute lips which conceal a perfect set of teeth. Her head is crowned with long, wavy, golden-colored tresses, which are almost always held together in a ponytail whose length reaches a little way below her scapulae. Two locks of hair frame either side of Iroka's face, and she keeps the rest of her hair from falling over her face by two dark-blue butterfly-shaped hairclips. Her body frame is voluptuous and well-formed, with an hourglass figure and a backside that may elicit the occasional whistle from less polite members of the society. Although Iroka does not look physically strong, her slightly toned muscles give a hint that she is no stranger to exercise. She carries herself with noticeable elegance, and even though she has been described to manage to convert almost all her motions to “a wiggle here and a jiggle there”, Iroka’s motions, however provocative they may be, are carried out with a most natural grace, and show no indication that she is deliberately trying to be noticed.
In the way of clothes, Jūnibantai Iroka seems to favor clothes that will flatter her shapely image. Her Shinigami uniform is quite modified, with Iroka having done away with the upper part of the uniform. Instead, she wears a black tube top that affords a view of much of her ample bosom, as well as her entire midriff. Iroka wears the standard black Shinigami hakamas, with the slits just below the white cloth belt exposing quite a good deal of her hips. On her feet, she wears white socks and a slightly modified variety of the traditional Shinigami sandals with wedge-soles, to improve her diminutive height. When in casual clothes, Iroka's dress sense is no less risqué, sometimes even more so.
Iroka favors accessories quite a lot, it would seem. Aside her blue butterfly hairclips, Iroka's ponytail is held by a clasp made from a blue, shiny, light but quite durable metal. She has two cartilage piercings on each ear, as well as a usual ear piercing. On her neck, she wears a metal collar with what looks like a chain ring on it. She also wears a bracelet on her left upper arm, as well as a number of bangles on her right wrist and two bracelets, one red and one dark blue, on her left. Iroka also sports a navel piercing. All Iroka's accessories, save the butterfly hairclips and the bracelets on her left wrist, are made of the same shiny metal as her ponytail clasp.
Iroka wears her zanpakutou tucked into her cloth belt at her back. it sticks outward towards her right side, so she can easily reach it.

    Personality:
At first glance, Jūnibantai Iroka strikes her observer as a vivacious, chipper and happy-go-lucky girl, with a cheeky sense of humor and yet a rather vacant air about her. There is an air of ‘positive’ energy around her, which will either inspire people to communicate with her, or irritate the not-so-happy individuals in the community. Iroka’s optimism is almost idealistic, and while she is good at cheering people up and making environments lively, her sunny disposition and flighty sanguinity have led many people to erroneously conclude that Iroka is somewhat of a dimwit. She is also mostly regarded as an incorrigible minx, and is not above showing off her curves (of which she is rather proud) wherever she can, although, to the chagrin of many, Iroka often attempts to give the impression that she doesn't understand that she is doing anything provocative. Her piercings give an impression of deviance. In the eyes of more judgemental fellows, this might paint an overall picture of Iroka as a shallow, unintelligent and vain tart, who has probably had life a little bit too easy. And such a person could not be more wrong.

Iroka’s cheerful exterior hides a darker side nurtured by the dark events that forged her past. Seeking to avoid the shadows of history, Iroka will make a show of being emotionally buoyant when she is around people, because she wants to be recognized more as a person than an article. She however has a habit of brooding or crying or immersing herself fanatically in research work when there is no one around. Iroka’s greatest fear is to be abandoned, especially by those she holds dear. She is very favourably disposed, forbearing and obliging to her friends and colleagues, even going out of her way to do them varied sorts of favors, even if the requests are silly, if they simply asked, although she will not agree to their every wishes, especially if they go against her core values. Even though Iroka is a typical rebel when higher authorities are concerned, and is usually difficult to lead (as she maintains her own ideas, regardless of the status quo), she understands that teamwork is necessary for team survival, and will co-operate fully with her leader and teammates if it is necessary. Iroka is fanatically loyal to her friends, and will often side them even if they’re wrong, though she will afterwards chew them up one side and down the other. She hates betrayal typically and finds difficulty in forgiving a traitor, despite her naturally lenient inclinations. Iroka views enemies with a deep hatred, as she considers them a threat to her friends (if a friend dies, her relationship with such a person must naturally be terminated, and she cannot bear to think of that), and will fight them with everything she has. She has a habit of taunting and poking fun at an opponent in battle, which can cause them to lose control and make a mistake, or conversely give her an overkill fight.
Against all popular belief, Iroka is not without her own modicum of decency, and can actually feel uncomfortable in particularly scanty clothing articles. In truth, her racy dress sense stems from a sensory ability she possesses, which will be explained in detail in the Abilities section. She is also not as confident as she lets on, and will easily get embarrassed if confronted by a member of the opposite sex who appears to have a genuine interest in her. Iroka doesn't like sleeping, because she often has nightmares, which are reminders of her past. Being quite a passionate individual, Iroka will put all her energies into whatever work she has to do, no matter the triviality of the job. As a result, she has a habit of being effective, sometimes overly so. Iroka is also very neat, and even though she does not shy away from combat, she does not like getting dirty or untidy. Even though she tries not to show it, Iroka has a very sharp mind and possesses a penchant for technology development, and may be found tinkering with various doodads in the 12th Divison labs. She views the 12th Division Captain, Urahara Rioshi as a benefactor.

    Your Legacy:

    Character Story:
A problem had been observed in the 12th Division. Most of the members of the R & D division never had the adjective of being combat-inclined in their resume. As such, field missions of data collection, especially of live samples, or reconnaissance in hostile territories were more likely to result in fatalities. Of course, the obvious solution was to tag along with more battle-proved colleagues, whose expertise in the field of combat was likely to protect them while data-collecting, but there was a disadvantage in that, as most Shinigami who weren’t in the 12th were considered boorish and unscientific by the R & D Shinigami. While that did not seem like a problem, the fact was that, unless given direct orders to bodyguard the 12th Division Shinigami, a Shinigami of a different division was more inclined to go home once he had finished a mission than stay to babysit a lab-coat nerd in a terrain where every extra second could cost him his life. On one such mission, around controversial circumstances, an R & D Shinigami sacrificed his ‘babysitter’ to obtain the data he was trying to collect. This put the 12th Division in a bad light, and reduced the number of Shinigami willing to go on 12th Division babysit missions. Realizing that gathering information or research samples would be harder now, a number of R & D Shinigami banded together to put a solution to the posed problem. The solution was “Project: IROKA”.

IROKA was an acronym of sorts, picked from the first syllables of "Itsue Roukasu Karada" ('Itsue' means fivefold, 'Roukasu' means tedious work, and 'Karada' means body). Although the name of the project is supposed to be pronounced "I-rou-ka", the word "I-ro-ka", which is quite similar in sound, means 'loveliness'. Due to the aesthetics of the latter word, it was chosen as the name of the project. Judging from the name of the project, the scientists were tasked with creating a modsoul (the body) that was capable of carrying out five important duties : Combat, Reconnaissance, Research execution, Data collection and General support. If the project was successful, the 12th Division Shinigami wouldn't have to beg anyone to help them out on 'babysitting missions'. The proposition for the project was submitted to the Captain of the 12th Division, Urahara Rioshi, who, interested in the outcome of the project, gave his approval of its commencement. Having the green lights on, the scientists involved in the Project: IROKA immediately got to work.

Thanks to the nature of the name 'Iroka', it was agreed that the modsoul that would be created would appear female. While work progressed, it was discovered that there was a big structural problem. The most critical aspect of the project needed a natural soul with a special type of reiatsu for it to work. As modsouls were artificial, it was impossible to continue the experiment. Unwilling to be hindered by such a setback, the scientists decided to look for a number of souls with strong spiritual energy from Rukongai. The idea of using a created modsoul had been previously the choice of action, because using a natural soul meant the soul would undergo brutal and inhuman experiments. But as long as the project continued, the brains of Project: IROKA didn't care much for who suffered, as long as their work yielded results. They had to take care so as to get people who would not be searched for if missed, as the scientists had decided on an illegal course of action, and did not wish to be investigated. After a little searching, they found a man bodyguarding a young woman in one of Rukongai's most uneventful sectors. On investigation, they discovered that the man had had a mentor, who when dying had delivered his daughter into the man's care for safekeeping. The young woman, as it were, was practically all the scientists wanted. She possessed the special reiatsu, and had no existing family. The only person who knew her was her bodyguard, who was paid off with a humongous sum of money to let go of her. The scientists also gathered a number of spiritually strong souls of different degrees, each having no family or acquaintance. On the guise that the scientists were taking the spiritually strong souls to the Shinigami Academy, they brought them to Seireitei and smuggled them into the 12th Division labs.

Project: IROKA went on for about the space of a year, before one of the subjects of Project: IROKA escaped, found his way out of the labs, and then succumbed to his wounds and died. Immediately, investigations were launched by Captain Urahara, who discovered the atrocities being committed and court-martialed the scientists, shutting down Project: IROKA. All the test subjects of the project were found dead, save the girl with special reiatsu. However, she seemed unable to remember anything except that she had been betrayed by one very close to her, and the tortures she had undergone during the duration of the project's execution. While willing to let her go, Captain Urahara observed that the girl seemed to have been somewhat altered during the course of the experiments carried out on her. These alterations seemed to be useful in combat situations. So he offered her a slot in the Shinigami Academy, merely out of curiosity to see how she would fare. Having no place to go, the girl gladly accepted his offer, and was named Jūnibantai Iroka, Jūnibantai simply meaning '12th Division', and Iroka because that had been the name of the project which 'made' her, and also the name suited her. Iroka tackled the Shinigami Academy with all she had, but from day one, she had a problem: most people regarded her more as an experiment or a robot, rather than a person. Infuriated by their behavior, she developed an attitude that made her notorious in the Academy, always breaking rules and getting on the wrong side of teachers. Nevertheless, she did show a spirit willing to learn and co-operate with others, once she was acknowledged by them. She was quite rather weak in Zanjutsu, but excelled in Hakuda and Hohou, her enhanced strength and reflexes which she gained from Project: IROKA working for her. In time, she graduated from the Academy, and returned to the Division which she had known for as far as she could remember. Now she simply seeks to be regarded as a person, not as a thing or experiment, and she will do whatever she can to ensure that.

    RP Sample:

A bead of sweat ran down Iroka's pretty face, seemed to hesitate on her chin, then dropped noiselessly onto the wooden floor. Iroka paid the drop no heed. A more urgent matter faced her: Zanjutsu Practical Finals. And she had been matched against one of the most skilful Shinigami hopefuls in her class, Fukurou Takeda. That was very likely an intentional arrangement, on the part of the instructor. Takeda was smiling, his training sword held easily in one hand, as he watched her, his body language showing no signs of exertion. Iroka cursed mentally. She was sure she could match the grinning boy any day. The only problem was, the use of fists was prohibited in this match. That was a serious handicap. With the bokken she held, Iroka was more likely to injure herself than even hit Takeda once. It was obvious Takeda saw himself winning this bout. Iroka didn't care. She wasn't going to let him have his victory nicely, if she would have a say about the matter.

Observing that his opponent did not attack as she had done before, Takeda moved, his flowing uniform oscillating gracefully as he swiftly covered the distance between himself and his golden-haired opponent. Iroka, seeing his move, took a single step back, not out of a desire to flee, but in order to increase her center of gravity. Takeda swung at her, a diagonally-downward slash. It seemed easy enough to avoid, and Iroka simply stepped to the side, then drew up her bokken for her own attack. Her sensor ability tracked Takeda's next action even before her eyes saw it, but there was no way she could dodge the hilt of his bokken speeding towards her belly. She crumpled on his fist, as the force of the blow drove the wind out of her. As Takeda recoiled, Iroka dropped to one knee. She hadn't thought he was that strong. As she attempted to gather her wits together, the blunt tip of Takeda's bokken lifted her face gently to meet his smiling brown eyes.

"What's the matter, Beautiful?" he asked teasingly. "Too fast for you?"

She snorted derisively. "I let that one get in," came the reply. "Wouldn't want all your fangirls waiting to tear me to pieces at the end of this fight, would we?"

Takeda laughed, a rich, good-natured laugh. [b]"Let's go again, then,"
he offered, withdrawing his sword and sheathing it. Iroka rose to her feet and backed away till she was near the wall. Apparently not very wise, as she wouldn't have space to manoeuver. Takeda frowned. "I thought playing defensive didn't help you last time," the swordsman said, drawing his sword once again and taking a perfect basic kendo stance. Iroka simply responded by puckering her lips at him and relaxing herself. She knew her form was sloppy, but she had an idea, damn the pants-twisted-in-a-tight-knot instructors. She knew he would observe the awkwardness in her gait and seek to use it to his advantage. What would be her trump card was that even though she was no good with swords, Iroka was a master of footwork. As Takeda swung in again, Iroka simply leaned towards one side, as if she anticipated him to attack as before. He answered with a horizontal slash. "Just the thing!" Iroka thought as she ducked under his wooden sword. At that moment, both Shinigami hopefuls were back-to-back. Takeda would have to turn to attack again. She wouldn't.

Straightening out her legs and bending forward, Iroka suddenly jumped backwards with explosive force, catching Takeda on the right side of his head with her backside. Iroka's enhanced strength would have been enough to knock Takeda well off his feet, but Iroka had used the environment to her advantage. When Takeda had attacked, he had drawn close to the wall. The force of Iroka's attack ensured that Takeda had only a few inches to fly before he found his head between Iroka's derriere and the hard stone wall. The result was a heavy concussion that ultimately knocked Takeda out. Of course, the instructor was livid with rage, yelling at the top of his voice in a nasal wail that sounded unintelligible to Iroka. She pretended not to notice him, instead sauntering away back to her seat and exaggerating the natural wiggle of her hips in order to offend the prude. She was sure her cheeky action would get her a healthy punishment, but she was satisfied. Takeda wouldn't go all "Iroka can't even match up to me" when next he saw her.

Besides, she didn't think she had been the only one who was entertained.

    Abilities
    1/12
    Name: Yamachikara [Mountain Strength]
    State: Regular
Terms of Usage: This ability is constant, and does not need activation.
Description: Due to Iroka's Project: IROKA alterations, her muscles possess very high tensile and compressive strength. This translates into superhuman physical strength, allowing Iroka to carry things above the ability of a Shinigami on her level. It should be noted that this ability does not come with invulnerability, and Iroka will take damage like the average Shinigami. This ability increases with Iroka's experience (can be translated to mean her stat points cumulative).

    2/12
    Name: Reishiryoku [Spirit Eyesight]
    State: Regular
Terms of Usage: This ability is constant, and does not need activation.
Description: Due to the experiments carried out on Iroka, her very skin is a reiatsu sensor of sorts. She can sense reiatsu in her environment to such an accuracy that in places like Soul Society, where everything is made of reiatsu, she does not need her eyes. In a place like earth, she can still get about without her eyes, but of course, this is much harder. Iroka can easily sense the presence and motions of spiritually strong beings and reiatsu constructions such as kidou or cero, as well as track a reiatsu signature. Every reiatsu signature is unique, so Iroka can identify people by their signatures. Iroka can sense up to a radius of 100 meters, even beyond walls. Reiatsu disrupting techniques will render this technique useless, while the effect of something against Iroka's skin can reduce her efficiency at sensing. For example, underwater, where water is in contact with her entire body, Iroka's ability to sense is greatly hindered. Unknown to most people, this is the actual reason for Iroka's scanty dress sense, as the feel of fabric on her skin tends to make reiatsu sensing slightly less accurate.
