Against all odds.

Soren caught a piece of paper in his hands and he read it and thought about it's contents. 33-777-75-666-73? I don't get it what could it mean... Unless they are coordinates...No no too long something doesn't feel quite righ- That's when he saw one of the towers explode looking down he saw everyone running away then a few more exploded. W-what's the meaning of this?! There are innocent people down there they could get hurt!

Soren wasn't happy about this not at all he didn't care if it was a flashy entrance there was no reason to get innocent, powerless people involved. Though he guessed it couldn't be help now. Feeling something off he looked down and turned around someone was jumping up into the air had he been spotted? Remaining calm he placed his hand on his zanpaktou and stood there waiting for whoever it was coming here to get here.

Ai leap into the air and used his hirenkyaku to create a platform to pushed himself higher as he looked down onto the crowd as they began to scramble. So many people and it was only seemingly getting worse. He needed to find out just whom was not supposed to be here and it would land them to be the culprit of his not finding the woman "Spurhaltung des Auges." And with that, a small flare erupted from his left eye and several spiritual pressures emitted out of the crowd, some at abnormal levels.

But a single one caught his eye and it was the first male he laid his eye on. He was not of the government. "You son of a...You Ruined My Chances At A New Girl! This Is All Your Fault!" with that loud proclamation, he held his left arm up as his Quincy cross formed into his bow and he pulled back a single arrow and let it loose at the man.

Soren watched the man release the arrow he utilized his flash step to avoid it. He raised the eyebrow at the man's reason for fighting him slightly confused by it. Soren sighed and spoke the the man in a calm voice If that's your only reason for fighting me then go ahead but lets both not drag someone else into this lets go somewhere else for this. Soren looked around seeing small wooded area near here heading to it soren sighed and thought to himself. He's human like me regardless if he's my enemy I will not kill him... lets hope we can put a end to this without killing anyone.

Soren landed on the ground reaching for his zanpaktou he drew it out of it's sheathe the white blade catching the moons light as he brought it down to his side he awaited his opponent and any tricks he may pull. He stayed calm and took a deep breath this would be his first full fight in his shinigami form also against a quincy. He was at a disadvantage here nevertheless he wasn't going to run away. Sensing that his opponent was close he prepared himself.

Ai watched as his arrow struck ground where the male once stood and let his eye follow over toward the placement he put himself at next. He then began to speak of not doing it here and taking it off to the side. He must be afraid of swinging that sword around and hitting someone. He then used his hirenkyaku to follow suit after a moment of thought. Once in the woods, Ai actually let himself touch down onto the ground and a few yards away from the shinigami, bow still in hand but rested at his side.

"You shinigami really don't know how to leave well enough alone. I had so much going for me and this stuff had me on top of the world, I was getting numbers left and right and when I finally see a chick that looks like something from a dream, you stupid rebels have to go and blow something up."

Soren sighed seeing as there was no use in trying to reason with him and that this seemed to be his only reason for fighting Soren he kind of thought of it as a waste but nevertheless Soren spoke calmly to the man. Well I'm sorry that we messed up your chance believe me I didn't want any of this. But allow me to introduce myself I'm Soren Kiyomeru a human such as yourself though I know have Shinigami powers I still consider myself human. Soren prepared himself for his opponents assault.

Soren raised his zanpaktou up and got in stance he was thinking of ways he could get close the the Quincy before him it was going to take some time and some strategy he couldn't afford to lose here he had promised to protect what was close to him and was willing to pit his beliefs against the man before him. His allies had entrusted him with this task he could not afford to fail them. But he wasn't going to kill this man for either.

Ai listened to the man as he spoke his apologies but he wanted to part of it. What was done was done and he had to blame someone and the one across from him was a part of the enemy faction so he was as good as any other. He then listened as the other introduced himself and then readied himself. Ai simply rose his bow up and pulled a single arrow.

"I am lieutenant Kazuma of the World Government!" And with that, he released the arrow which quickly turned into several, one after the other heading all to the same point, the shinigami.

Soren smiled as the arrows quickly approached him and he utilized his flash step to dodge to the right and backed off from his target lifting his zanpaktou up Shine, Hikariryu Kagayaki. Soren's zanpaktou shattered and disappeared leaving him weaponless but Soren had a plan he was devising he hadn't ever tried this before in his training so it was up in the air but since his zanpaktou was pretty much just a beam of white reiastu in his hand now he wondered if he could morph the shape but for now he turned his attention back to the arrows that was being fired at him. He slash his zanpaktou realing a white crescent beam from his blade

Horisutoraiku! The beam had been aimed at the arrows and not the attacker himself Soren still needed more info on his guy before he did anything too major.

Ai watched as the arrows were dodged with relative ease and drew his sword and spoke out a phrase which then caused his own sword to shatter into nothingness. But this wasn't so as it soon formed into a white aura-like blade. This must be a release that shinigami's had that were simular to that of a Quincy's. This brought a sneer to Ai's lips as he despised his own release and it was a cause that he would never use.

With the strike of the male and the beam that went from the strike and went toward the arrows. Ai's eyes narrowed as he glared and stopped his firing and his bow dispersed as well only it was replaced with nothing at all. He held both his hands at his sides and spoke "Handlung number four, Blasse Bolt Ruck, Pale Bolt Jolt!" The Quincy points at Soren with his index finger and generated a concentrated lightning bolt that fired at him.

Soren quickly retorted with his own kidou Hadou number 4. Byakurai! Soren held out his hand launching concentrated lightning bolt from his finger tip to counteract Kazuma's lightning he didn't wait for the two to collide he had a opening now he was going to take it so he could get in close and strike. Dashing forward Soren went to strike at Kazuma with a vertical slash to his right shoulder blade hopeing he could render one of his arms useless. However there wasn't much he could do for a counterattack except for possibly reducing the damage however these types of attacks was going to end it quick

In the back of Soren's mind something felt wrong very wrong he was worried and he was nervous he was the match that bothered him but something else that had him so worried. But all he could do was focus on finishing this quickly.

The quincy watched as the shinigami counter his skill with one of equal power and level and wasted little time in attacking him. Ai then held up his free hand which held his Quincy cross in it as he spoke to himself "Verteidigung number thirty-nine, Runde schutzen, Round Protect." The spell then generated a dull blue energy in front of Ai that took the form of a large spinning disk of condensed reiatsu to block his opponent's attack on his person.

He held the shield as he glared at the other man as he then spoke "Don't you DARE think you can touch me with your testosterone filled weapon!" He then holds his finger at Soren once again "Schub." this generated a small force that aimed to thrust the target back a few feet away from the him.

Soren was caught against the shield after listening to the man mocked him about thinking his blade would ever touch him. Then he got pushed back a few feet by the force Soren smiled he managed to make him guard maybe he could actually do this though he knew Kazuma wasn't a lieutenant for nothing so he stayed on his guard. Heh, well then shall we continue? Soren raised his zanpaktou and got in stance while he thought about something else he could do.

Soren ltook a deep breath it would seem kidou would be his best ally here. Bakudo number 1. Sai! If kazuma was hit by this his arms would have been folded behind his back allowing Soren for another to be followed up with Bakudo number 9 Geki! Then finally he would utilize one of his zanpaktou's abilities Horisutoraiku to release a white crescent wave towards Kazuma. However with this he was going to take up some of his reiastu and if he messed up well he would try something else becoming careful about how he used his reiastu and battle wise.

Ai watched as Soren was sent back by his own skill which did not bring any sort of change to his features. His glare was still constant and his unfaltering flat line mouth did not change in the slightest. His defensive skill faded as he held his Quincy cross in one hand whilst the other still pointed itself at the shinigami. "I'm just getting started but I already want to end you." With that, the shinigami activated a level one kido on him, at first he struggled but then simply let it happen as his arms snapped behind his back.

The second kido that was followed caused a red outline around the Quincy as he felt his body starting to not react to him. He glared down as he leaned back and fell on the ground stiff. He kept his eyes on the male as he threw an attack at his seemingly frozen body but would not end in such a way. With his hands behind his back and his back against the ground, his Quincy Cross now pressed against the ground "Verteidigung number fourty-five. Steinmauer, Stone Wall."

The spell then created a large stone in front of the Quincy that takes the form of a overly-large stone wall of condensed reiatsu within to block the attack. Behind the wall, the Quincy slowly began to pull tightly onto his own arms as his spiritual pressure began to rise as he voice would speak out "You want to go spell for spell against me? Me?! Are you out of you ever loving MIND?!"

Soren watched at the stone and his attack connected he had to admit that was slightly annoying holding his zanpaktou to the his he waited for the dust to clear and he felt his spiritual pressure rising as he shout out at Soren. He replied back to the Quincy Maybe so... but to be honest I never knew Quincies even had spells they are intriguing to say the least. Soren wasn't trying to mock him he was just being truthful with his opponent. But a even bigger question came into mind this fighting was pointless why did he even fight with the world alliance.

You're name was Lieutenant Kazuma correct? Soren looked at him eye icy blue eyes flaring at his position his spiritual pressure being to rise as well. Tell me why it is that you fight for the World Alliance? Was it a Quinces hatred for Shinigami and Hollows? Or was it something else like power you would hold? Whatever the reason... I have protect them I promise I would and I can't back on my word. Not know I wish this never happened to the world but as I said before I'M GOING TO PROTECT MY FRIENDS. Soren launched at the Quincy hoping to close the distance between the hope coming up with a vertical slash.

The Quincy slowly let a single arm snap from behind him as he broke free of the kido. His other arm followed as the strike landed against the stone and the voice of the shinigami spoke out to him about the Quincy spells, to which Ai brought himself to a sitting on the ground, his cross still resting on the ground as he replied "We Quincy are an exceptional example of human superiority. We simply took what the shinigami had and..." he brought himself up to his feet as the stone wall started to crumble "...made it far better and even improved off of your lack of prowess."

It was then that the shinigami spoke his name and began to increase his own spiritual pressure and asked his reason for fighting and named a few that he thought to be correct himself and then spoke his own and the promises he made to his friends and then attacked. Ai held his his right hand out to his side "Handlung number six, Blasse Schwert, Pale Sword" and he then aimed to clash with the shinigami and would speak

"You want a reason? You think just because you made a promise that it's going to give you an advantage? That you'll be able to fight the unbeatable foe and save the world? This isn't some game or late night show. That doesn't work. You asked me why I fight for the World Government. I do it for the fame, I do it for glory, I do it for the women and the attention. I did it because on the first three days of night, when the apocalypse happened. The Quincy Academy was ground zero for the door to hell my friend and I'll tell you now, not a lemons good thing came out of that!"

He let his own spiritual pressure lower and condense in his anger as he focused on holding his own blade against his foe.

Soren held his own against Kazuma listening to why he fought for the world alliance Soren fought for his promises and Kazuma fought for fame oth reasons seemed partially ridiculous but they firmly believed in their reasons. No, it doesn't give me a advantage or that I'll even defeat a unbeatable foe hell I don't even know if I'll beat you. But what I do know is they give me reason to fight and to protect them is my highest priority! Holding him there he released a Horisutoraiku right there with the both of them right there.

The white blast erupted between the both of them Soren getting caught in the explosion hoping that Kazuma would it wouldn't do a whole lot but he needed to damage even if it meant doing the same himself.

Ai watched as their weapons clashed and the hold was held. He glared at Soren as he spoke about knowing he might not beat him but he had something to fight for. Ai sneered as suddenly, the boy released his skill at close range as all went white. He was unaware that the attack didn't need a swing to be activated. Ai launched himself away from the resulting explosion with his arms up over his face as if to protect it. The sleeves were burnt away but his hair and face were untouched.

"You little ingrate. Do you have any idea what is going to happen after I get done here? There I'm sure that your little friends are getting their own fights right about now. These friends of yours, are any of them like you?" He held his left hand up in the air "Verteidigung number sixty-two, Hundert Regen Pfeil, Hundred Rain Arrow." The Quincy generated a blue-white glowing arrow of energy in his hand and throws it at the shinigami target. It then duplicates itself into a hundred more arrows which rain down on him in an attempt of pinning him against a tree or the ground.

Soren coughed as the blast was finished the smoke clearing between them. He looked to see what kind of damage he had caused scanning his opponent he saw he hadn't done much except blow off his sleeves feeling a bit frustrated as he took a breather as Kazuma ranted on about him being a ingrate and how his friends were in their own fights right now. Hearing the Quincy casting another spell he readied himself for the onslaught of arrows coming towards him.

Holding his zanapaktou in front of him he pulled it close and held the side of the blade on his hand Hōrīshīrudo. He calmly stated and falling to his back hiding beneath the transparent shield he was pinned down until the arrows stopped. ...You don't think I know that? I know they are getting in fights proving their own reasons for fighting and I believe that they'll win so I'm going to fight and try to win as well and as for them being like me it depends on what you mean. Soren thought about it for a second and laughed knowing he couldn't win at all cost in fact if he had to kill he would lose this match.

Ai watched as his hail of arrows continued to rain down onto his enemy but instead of pinning him down easily. But instead, his foe ended up protecting himself first and foremost. The arrowed continued to fall as the shinigami fell to his back but was otherwise uneffected by the skill but his words did reach Ai as he held his right hand up in the air as he replied

"I mean, are they as strong willed as you are? Are they as strong as you? Are they willing to go against stronger people?...." As he spoke this, the arrows began to die down but a red sphere or energy began to spark in it and as the arrows stopped, his offensive attack as well as his words "Are any of them women? Number sixty-three Donner brüllen Speer, Thunder Roar Spear." The formed orb was aimed down at the shinigami and was then fired at the target with a massive concentrated strike of energy that looked like a large and powerful strike of lightning.

Soren watched as the arrows began to die down and he sighed listening to Kazuma and answering his question with a slight smile on his face. Just as strong and strong willed as me and even more so. Soren got up looking at Kazuma when he asked if any of them were women raising a eyebrow he chuckled to himself closing his eyes taking a deep breath calming himself.

Yeah there are some women with us and one is special to me and I want to protect her most of all. In fact she's the reason I'm a Shinigami now. Soren noticed the red orb above him it was too late now he wasn't faster then lightning He began to run out from and held out his zanpaktou. Hōrīshīrudo! The white shield appeared just as the lightning flashed down on the ground and explode everything beneath it Soren flying back bouncing along the ground.

His body hurt he was hit barely and had managed to reduce the damage but it was still a lot he stabbed his zanpaktou into the ground getting up leaning on it to take a breather he couldn't give he promised Sniper and his friends he wouldn't fail for their sakes. Soren poke to Kazuma his voice was a bit shaky yet was brimming with confidence and willpower. That was a nice spell catching me like that... but even if you knock me down like now... I'm going to keep getting up. Despite the pauses in his sentence he was tired but he had took keep going his clothes where ragged and the top half of hakama was gone now with burns and ashes on his body. He smiled sighing to himself watching Kazuma thinking of a plan.

Ai watched as the spell leap forth onto his enemy as it should. He took great pride in the spell craft of the Quincy and spent the good majority of his life learning about them, even more so than the usual archery that most Quincy took such great pride in. He just found so many more uses for the spellcraft that would be the most beneficial.

The shinigami did speak of there being female's in their ranks and that there was one that he was especially close to himself. "Is that right?" He spoke this to himself as his attack struck hard and fast, watching the shinigami go flying out of the dust and debris. But still he persisted and rose from his would be fallen posture and spoke once more. Ai held his left hand in the direction of the shinigami as his right one went to his side

"Then I don't think I will kill you, it might ruin my chances. But I can't let you just running around either. Verteidigung number fifty-nine. Schwere Nadel, Heavy Needle." He closed his hand around his quincy cross and pointed his index and middle finger at the soul reaper as small dart-sized objects at the shinigami at high speeds. Shooting ten to start with, each one that would strike would double the weight of what ever limb or object it struck.

Soren watch and listened as he was still leaning on his zanpaktou and he raised a eyebrow. Is that so... Soren stood there knowing he didn't have much reiatsu to do anything against Kazuma as he said his final spell Soren began the rest of his reiatsu without killing him at the tip of his blade then stated. I am not planning to kill you either but it's like you said we can't let each other run around. Soren began to flash step forward.

Upon doing this he was stabbed with 2 needles his weight being instantly being increased to 600 pounds the others had hit his blade increasing his weight as well. Not being able to carry his weight Soren fell down rolling a foot or so stopping before Kazuma. He looked up and sighed looking over. I guess it's over now since I can't get up nor do I have to reiatsu to continue this fight... That was a good match... well for me I dunno about you. Soren was slightly disappointed and still despite his weight he was trying to get up to no avail.
