[b]Appearance:
Shinigami:
Personality: Ashe is usually very upbeat and friendly. No matter what happens she manages to smile or make others smile. Some find her annoying in this, but she tries her hardest not to let others or herself get down by finding even a little something to smile about. And yet she is not too particularly sociable, more easygoing and waiting for others to approach her rather than her go out to make friends. She can be very serious when she has to be or when the mood strikes her and outright moody at times. She is protective of her friends to the last. She usually shows her affection through pokes and hugs and holding of arms and generally jumping on said person. But is not shy of violence when someone annoys her, even if they are her friend, fond of poking them harder, pinching them, kicking, generally hitting over the head, but never bad enough to seriously injure them. She wants to play heroine but knows she is not strong enough and has to hang in the back
Story:
Human Life: Alana McCarthy was an Irish immigrant that had lost both her parents and looked after her little brother by herself in mid 1800’s London, England by passing off as a boy and taking more work than a girl would, such as dusting chimneys and running errands. She stayed with a few other loner children such as herself and they managed together and she liked to help keep them smiling and would often fight to protect them and sometimes acted like a mother to the group. But like happened with many of the children during those times her little brother was struck with illness. Not knowing what to do Alana pleaded with people in the streets to please do something to help him, give him food or shelter or a doctor, anything to help him. And while doing this a carriage sped through and just before it hit her she threw her little brother to the side of the street, getting hit herself. She did not die immediately upon impact but saw the carriage carry on, slow down for a moment as a man in fine clothes looked back at her before continuing on, not bothering to see if she had survived or not, not seeming to care at all. She could hardly believe it. Even with all that they had been through here she and her little brother were about to die and no one stopped. No one helped them. She died crying and alone in the mud on that cold morning of 1867, not knowing what had happened to her little brother.
Plus Life:Alana did not understand at all when she woke up with a chain coming out of her chest to the ground of the street. She wondered if she didn’t die at all. She couldn’t see her brother anywhere though. And no one looked at her. Not that that was new. But she tried talking to people to find out. They didn’t even glance. She was furious with the people. Was she dead? Or were they really so heartless to ignore her? She finally pulled the chain from the ground and ran back to the little shelter she and the other children had created to see them doing as they always have. But she didn’t see her brother. She asked and begged and pleaded with them to tell her but they didn’t react at all, like they couldn’t even hear her. Now finally realizing her fate she left back to the street and wandered up and down it for days and weeks. She saw no hair of her little brother but she did see the very same carriage that hit her and the man in the fine clothes. When she first saw him she was struck with a fit of rage and flew at him, hanging onto the carriage and spitting curses at him but he paid no mind. She did this continuously with no reaction before giving up. She settled for searching the city for her precious little boy to no avail. She was getting more and more afraid that her brother had not survived. And also of the monster that was chasing her. It was big and black and had a strange white scary mask on it’s face. It was the only thing that could see or hear her and all it wanted was to eat her. She knew because it told her, but she managed to hide and outrun it and something usually made it go away for some reason. Finally after some amount of months she came by a man dressed in clothes like she had seen in pictures from the marketplace. Clothes from a far away land of the orient. She stared at him for a while but then ignored him and continued searching. He was not her brother. But then she began to notice that he was following her. But no, he couldn’t be, no one could see or hear her. Except for that monster. Did the foreign man want to eat her too?? And then he spoke to her. It felt so different. To actually be addressed calmly when all she had heard was strange voices and horrible yells and screeches. It seemed clearer. He asked her what she was searching for. She answered her little brother. And he said that there was another place he might be. A place that she had not searched. Alana realized that this man must be an angel and asked him to take her to heaven so she could search there. He wished her luck on her quest before she felt light and passed on.
Shinigami Life:Alana appeared suddenly in West District 60 of the Rukongai in the Soul Society with no memory of what happened to her or where she was let alone why. Panicking a little she did the first thing that she could think of. Run. A few people yelled at her to stop but she didn’t stop, too afraid that something bad would happen to her if she did. She headed out more West but then slowed, looking around her now. The surroundings seemed tattered and dirty. More so than the place she had first been. Getting glares from a few men she ran back but did not stay long, passing onto further districts. In District 61 she found a kindly old lady who stopped her with a few kind words. Finding out she was ‘new’, the old lady explained. She had died. And this was ‘heaven’, the Soul Society. And she was in the Rukongai where regular souls lived. She stayed with the old woman for a few days, asking more and more questions about the Seireitei and Soul Reapers and the Rukongai. Apparently the farther away from the Seireitei you were, the worse the Districts were. With this information she set out to get closer. But she stopped yet again, this time in District 64 as she came across a girl a little younger than her. She asked her for help carrying two large sacks and so she obliged, seeing nothing wrong with helping the girl out. The girl said her name was Serah and asked her own name. That was when she paused… Her name.. She had a name right? Then Serah paused and catching on, told her that she could come up with her own name. Looking up at the sky she thought and then answered ‘Ashe’ after a moment with a smile. She followed Serah to her home where she lived with several other people and children of almost all ages. It was a bit cramped but spirits were high and so Ashe decided to stay. She lived happily with the rag-tag group for a good long while, becoming close friends with Serah and helping her provide for the elderly and the younger ones, trying to teach them not to steal as then the Soul Reapers would get them. They would see them sometimes too, passing through the Districts but never caring much for what was happening in them unless a blatant crime was committed right in front of them. They seemed to have this..presence about them that made Ashe want to duck her head but she could not help staring. Later on she began to feel things. This would be normal…if she was so unused to it. Since she had arrived at the Rukongai she had not felt pain or hunger or anything really. No physical feeling. And now she did. This hungry thirst. She told Serah about it and the girl looked at her oddly and explained that only people with spiritual powers got hungry in the Soul Society.

Ashe glanced sideways as one of the cute Soul Reapers walked past her training area, talking with his friend and she stared a bit too long as she lost balance from the one footed pose she was holding with her Zanpakuto resting on her outstretched hand and open palm. Dropping the katana, the blond waved her hands to try desperately to keep balance but failed miserably. Face-planting into the ground the female soul reaper did not make any attempt to get up as she heard the laughter from the cute boy and his companion directed at her farce, simply staying there bowed, bright red face in the dirt. She suddenly didn't think he was that cute anymore. Then raising her head she glared at them both and bulled her lower eye-lid down and stuck her tongue out. "Nyeh!"
They abruptly stopped laughing and simply became haughty and continued on their way. Letting out a small sigh Ashe stood and brushed the dust off of her clothes and took hold of her Zanpakuto before continuing her training with a more serious look on her face.
Zanpakuto Information:
Zanpakuto Name: Raito Raion (not known)
Sealed Appearance:
Shikai
Released Appearance:
Luminous Followers: Small bright balls of light appear and then persist to follow the enemy to try and distract them and prevent them from attacking.
(Downside: This doesn't always work as an efficient distraction and works less to prevent attacks if there is more than one enemy.)
Solar Flare: Light gathers all around the enemy and blinds them temporarily.
(Downside: If aim is wrong, allies might become blinded as well, or even Ashe herself if she is not thinking and in close combat.)
Ethereal Luster: Allows Ashe to become invisible to the naked eye, by surrounding her with light.
(Downside: If her concentration falters she will become visible again, or if extremely low in power she also will have trouble keeping up the light deflection to be invisible. She also has a little trouble becoming re-visible once she no longer requires invisibility sometimes.)
