The end of OneManga Empty The end of OneManga

Post by cool beans Thu Jul 22, 2010 9:19 pm

"There is an end to everything, to good things as well."

It pains me to announce that this is the last week of manga reading on One Manga (!!). Manga publishers have recently changed their stance on manga scanlations and made it clear that they no longer approve of it. We have decided to abide by their wishes, and remove all manga content (regardless of licensing status) from the site. The removal of content will happen gradually (so you can at least finish some of the outstanding reading you have), but we expect all content to be gone by early next week (RIP OM July 2010).

So what next? We're not really sure at this point, but we have some ideas we would like to try out. Until then, the One Manga forums will remain active and we encourage all of you to continue using them. OMF has developed into a great community and it would be a shame to see that disappear.

You can also show us some love in this moment of sadness by 'liking' our brand new Facebook page. It would be nice to see just how many of you came to enjoy our 'better than peanut butter and jelly' invention.

Regardless of whether you stay with us or not, on behalf of the One Manga team, I would like to thank you all for your unwavering support over the years. Through the ups and downs you have stuck with us, and that is what kept us going.

As a certain Porky was fond of saying... That's all folks!

Time for me to go lay down and let this all sink in.

    - Zabi

well there you have it bye bye onemanga and for the many years i used it until i discovered mangastream...

It's not the end of the world though. There will always be another manga website on the internet, just like we'll always have a popular pop-star. Anyway, I too shall bid farewell to OM.

Yea, I hate how they're being deleted. I use mangastream most of the time but they don't have all of the manga i like to read at times. However, there is a software to download all the manga before it shuts down for good

As you might have seen onemanga.com is shutting down. This is sad news to every manga fan. I started reading manga from onemanga.com it was my source for all the manga, still is for most of my manga. It was a big part of most our lives, manga life at least, and a big supporting pillar for manga scanlation. Now its going to be removed.

If you were reading a manga from the beginning or just want to download a whole manga so you can read from onemanga.com then download this software:
    http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Do...34621.html
It will allow you to download all or some of the chapters of the manga. Enjoy :)

For awhile I couldn't get it to save but I saved all of the manga I downloaded to my 8 Gigabyte MP3 player

RIP OneManga. I personally prefer OneManga because of their layout and colors..

I hope mangastream will not suffer the same fate.

sites I'd probably use in the future would be mangareader.net/mangafox/etc etc

Don't really use onemanga much. I use mangafox. And to download manga, I use mangatraders.

Links to both are on my other post... (The one about 1/2 prince.

Read that manga btw, it rocks and I gave so many nice links!

I hate to see onemanga go. was the best site for online reading. But I am thankful that Arakawa-san ended Full Metal Alchemist, just in time to be able to read it before the close. I used to read Blade of the Immortal there also, but that series got shut down before the site did. well... RIP.

I read a lot of manga there.. I mean ALOT of manga. It is sad to see a good one go, but it's kind of due to their stubborn-ness and good nature. Most sites just hop servers when they get told to shut down, but they wouldn't, thus they got shut down v.v... I still use it to see when manga get's updated though so, eh, not totally gone.

I was so sad, when OneManga had to close itself down. As many of you probably did, OneManga was originally the place where I would read my mangas from.....Now, I have to re-visit Mangafox.....Oh and recently a manga site called "Somemanga" popped up. Though the site isn't as good as OneManga, I think it's better to read mangas there than to read manga from Mangafox....
