Is it really worth getting a wide screen TV? I mean, I've had one for awhile and to me, I don't really notice any difference, my friend has a huge screen that drops down from the ceiling and the picture looks kinda distorted and the quality isnt very good to be honest, so discuss your opinions here.

to be honest..... I really agree with you.... *shakes head*
yeah... I mean... there's no difference between watching with an ordinary TV and watching with a wide screen TV....
just a waste of money...

Same here, I don't think a wide screen TV is necessary. We have a wide screen here in our living room but I hardly turn that thing on. The image got distorted and I feel dizzy if I sit too close. Maybe in my case is different, I can totally live without a TV. So I would be satisfy with just a monitor size TV. Yeah, I use one of my monitors as my TV so I can watch the channels and work at the same time.
But I guess wide screen TV is just pure luxury for those people has huge house. LOL. And the place that I live is not big so I often feel dizzy with that thing. :P

i think it's more suitable here. ^^
me, sometimes i prefer a normal sized one, one that is just right? know what i mean?
I don't wanna over spend on entertainment.
and I'm the one who's gonna cry if it breaks down, so whats the use.

In order to get the most perfect picture in a widescreen TV, you'll have to get the highest resolution and refresh rate possible.
Many widescreen TVs are sold in 1080P Resolutions with 120 HZ refresh rates. These TVs would provide the most clearest and crisp picture possible ^-^
If one is a real movie and gamer fanatic....it is worth every penny for a widescreen TV.
