Lovely Thread!!!! I love this idea XD Sooo Here I go:
1. Empire Of The Sun - We Are The People 2. Snow Patrol - Open Your Eyes 3. Mando Diao - Dance With Somebody 4. Billy Talent - Fallen Leaves 5. The Killers - Tranquilize
you as well Hina! You gave me knew stuff for my IPod..lol Only thing was I couldn't watch the first one, because it said the video was not available in my country.
Little by little I'm loving ya more dear! XD
so I decided to put up a few more.
(This song actually has a video, but Radiohead is a very theatrical band, with an awesome stage show, so I put the live version up.) Radiohead: Idioteque
(I love this band a lot, and they always have the greatest videos) Placebo: Twenty Years
(If you don't know Tom Waits, you have to check him out. Cemetary Polka is awesome. and not everything he does is weird..lol) Tom Waits: Gods Away on Business
Eh, hope you copied the name and band and checked it out, cuz it roocks! Maaan! Coldplay and Placebo are my fave bands -_- (weird! XD)Tom Waits and Radiohead are pwnsome XD Aaand look at these guys! :D Me loves them >< Hope it works O_o
Arcade Fire - Neighborhood #3 (Power Out) aand this one: Arcade Fire - Rebellion(Lies)
oh wow; those were awesome! I especially like the Neighborhood one. The art work looked like it had been heavily influenced by Edward Gorey.
yeah it is weird actually; Radiohead and Placebo have been my favs for years now..lol
Well since you like them here is a couple more.
(as for Tom waits..lol He is awesome; he's been around since like the early 1970's. He is like the musical version of people like Jack Kerouac or Allen Ginsberg)
awesome stuff i loooove the linkin park one. the disturbed cartoon revolution is always a blast to watch! so many videos to watch so far! ill have to watch them all tomorrow!!! :D
righty here be mine top top 5 (but ive got a load more i love):
5) The video itself stars a famous actor called james nesbitt and i find it really moving, the way its sang/rapped whatever feels more poetic than anything and its overall a moving experience... and dont be ashamed if you lol at some of the rhyming in it... (this isnt my sort of music, i just love the video)
4) ahh queens of the stoneage, how could i have a list without ya appearing on it :D and a really cool video too ive seen it so many times on tv here it is on my list!
3) When i think of funny music videos this one always springs to mind, maybe cos its funny i dont know, but again for being stuck in my head it gets my third place vote
2) maybe cos im a bit of a history buff i dunno, but heres an awesome kasabian song with an awesome video to match, anti war messages? i dunno but gritty and disturbing nonetheless and i love it, plus kasabian are too awesome not to have on a list
1) The video itself is Weird with a capital W, the song just is a thumping repetive tune, its an oldie and its chris cornell but what the heck i love it and this is the first song i think of when i think music video... it was the first song i ever saw on kerrang when i first got satellite tv and the first proper music video i ever saw and what a one to be exposed to
YEAH! awesome guys! I'm glad you two found your way here. I thought for a while there it was just going to be me and Hina.
As for the videos awesome choices.
You know Roan, I've never been a huge Linkin Park fan, but this video and song I always really loved:
And Cool, Excellent choices, I dug them a lot! Also, it's funny but I had already started High school when Black Hole Sun came out..lol I was 16 then I think..lol That's one of my favorites of all time. Great song and video.
Here's another great song and video from a band that came out around the same time. It's not as old a song as Black Hole sun, as this was probably around 1998, but it's a cool video. It's Pearl Jam's Song Evolution:
I felt a little bit on the right side of funk today so i throw up some Curtis Mayfield for everybody. This is a live performance, from SNL I think.
Ok I found this totally by accident, but it's too crazy not to post. I'm sure you all know who the soul singer Barry White is, well ever thought you would see him singing with the late Luciano Pavarotti?
Spoiler:
(oh yeah, and now that you've posted 5, you don't have to post 5 every time unless you want to. I encourage it, because the more the better, I'm just letting you know in case you see something really cool and want to post it by itself. Them's the laws of video land..haha)
Haji, I love the Points of Authority vid too. The only thing I dont like is that I cant seem to find the vid with the original version of the song. Its always the remix, like youve got.
Ok so I haven't added any in a few days so here is some more from me:
This one is a Favorite of mine, It's Called Rising, and it's by these guys known as the Yoshida brothers. They are Shamisen Players. It's alittle more main stream, as they usually do more folk music like stuff.
This one is an old be good Nine Inch Nails song, called "Perfect Drug". You will have to click on this one, embedding is disabled.

this one is from Tori Amos, it's a great video for a cool song called "Spark" If you are old enough to remember or are Familiar with the early 90's TV show created, written and directed by the great David Lynch called Twin Peaks then you will recognize a lot, since the video is based around a similar theme.
This one is live, but not really. It's from a movie named after the musical group preforming, and the movie was a documentary of them. The song is called "Chan Chan" and it's by the Bueno Vista Social Club, out of Cuba. it is also disabled so you will have to click on it.
Ok, so things here slowed down; no worries; I have more!
This first video is a visual beauty, and I loved this song. The video was made back before CGI and digital editing ruined movies. The way the effects happen is this room was built and the floor was placed on rollers that could be controlled with switches to make the floor move left to right, or front to back. Basically it works a lot like one big conveyor belt.
Jamiroquai: Virtual Insanity

This is a band that's been around for awhile, but I'm not sure if they still are. They were the first Gothic Metal band I ever heard, and pretty much started the modern era of that style.
and since you reminded me of Nirvana, and my teenage years; I thought I would post one of their videos up. The song was released 10 years after Cobain's deat, on a compilation album. (god am I really that old? I was 16 then..sigh). the video shows a bunch of footage over the years of the band.
