And here's part 2.
- Spoiler:
- Day 3 – 1st division barracks
A hell butterfly flittered into Yami’s quarters. Yami stood up from his mediation at the butterfly’s chime. It landed gently on Yami’s stretched hand and relayed its message then was off.
“So a hollow has appeared in the real world and I’m to kill it.” Yami said as he went for his zanpaktou.
Yami had finished placing in some furniture the previous night, nothing major. A clothes bureau now covered the wall opposite his bed and two chairs were placed around a small coffee table, which were set up adjacent to a sword rack. His closest was now filled with his replacement shihakushou’s and some sandals. He grabbed his zanpaktou and left the room. He sprinted for the gate to the real world.Day 3 – Morning Outside the plant
Kaza ran, the front gate to the plant was closed and he’d been forced to park a few blocks away. He was afraid he’d be late and get fired; he had too many late entries on his record for his own good. The gate for walkers and bikers was opened and he went through their. When he finally got up the hill that led to the plant he spotted most, if not all, of the plant’s morning shift workers outside. He walked up to the back of the group but spotted Yeni, he changed course and made his way to Yeni.
“Hey Yeni why’s everyone outside?” Kaza asked huffing slightly from the jog
Yeni turned and saw Kaza he sighed and shrugged but smiled, “To be honest all I know is that the plant is closed until further notice, the boss is handing out this week’s paycheck.” Yeni said, “Beyond that we’ve got no clue.”Day 3 – Night, Yami Arrives!
The Senkai gate opened not too far from the plant and Yami walked out. Yami could see the plant in the distance; it was probably about 10 meters away. He looked around him and spotted a fairly large tree, about 10 feet tall, not to far from where he was. He made his way to it and jumped up and stood on a branch, he surveyed the area; the report said it wasn’t a strong hollow; so they didn’t expect it to cause too much of a hassle or trouble but still they couldn’t figure why the hollow was in this area, with a city so close by. Yami heard its roar before he saw it. The hollow stood 7 feet tall, just slightly taller then the tree line, and from the angle he had all he could see was its mask. It looked like a snakes face had been plastered on it. He heard its roar again, and Yami started plotting its course, it was going away from the city, that was stranger then it being in this part of the region. He jumped from tree branch to tree branch, getting progressively closer to the floor as he went along, when he was only a couple of feet from the floor he jumped down and sprinted full speed.
The hollow changed courses and followed it’s pray, a human soul stuck in the real world.
Yami encountered the hollow sooner then he expected, to be more accurate he encountered the hollows target before the hollow. A human soul and a ragged looking one at that; that explained the hollows presence out here, now what reason did the soul have for still being in the real world.
“You there stay behind me.” Yami said
“Run! It’s coming this way, it’ll kill you!” Yokani said flailing his arms
When Yokani got close to Yami he grabbed Yami’s arm and started pulling him. Yami reacted quickly; he grabbed Yokani and pushed him into a tree.
“Binding Arts #1: Sai.” The restraints kept Yokani from running away.
“I’m really sorry about this but I need you to stay here.” Yami said, “I’ll explain once I’ve dealt with the thing that’s chasing you.”
Yokani tried to fight against the restraints, “What did you do to me? We have to run that thing will kill us both!” Yokani shouted
The hollow came into view and roared. During those moments where it roared Yami got a good look at it. It was your typical hollow, large, bulky, and hungry. The only thing that was different with this one was its appearance. It appeared to be a large serpentine dragon, with sharp pointy teeth and long claws. Its tail looked like a mace, with spikes coming out at different intervals. Its kneecaps and elbows had long spikes protruding from them. It stopped its roaring and looked full on Yami. Yami pulled out his zanpaktou and raised his hand at the hollow’s stomach.
“Way of Destruction #1: Sho.” Yami said
With the hollow distracted with the attack Yami charged it full speed. His reward was a tail, which he raised his zanpaktou to block. Then the hollow slammed down with one and hand quickly followed with the other. Yami turned his body to the tail and rose his foot, planted it on a clear spot and kicked off. The force of the kickoff and the tails momentum sent Yami shooting away like an arrow, faster then Yami had intended. Fortunately the hollow, and he, hadn’t aimed and the nearest tree was arms length away. Yami dug his sword into the ground and stopped his flying. The hollow’s left hand, the first to come down, was stuck in the ground, with the right hand planted in it. Yami took that as a disadvantage on the hollow’s part and an advantage on his and ran at it. As he approached he watched for the tail, which cam swing as expected. Yami leaped forward and rose to chest level with the hollow. The hollow turned its head and opened its mouth thinking to eat Yami, a mistake on its part.
“Way of Destruction #1: Sho.” Yami said
The blast went flying through the hollow’s open mouth and out the other side. It roared in pain and snapped its mouth shut before Yami had been swallowed. Yami lowered his sword and pointed its tip at the hollow’s head, with it running perpendicular to Yami’s hip. The blade dug into the hollow’s mask and cut clean through it. When Yami passed its head his sword and part of his shihakushou was covered in blood. He landed behind it and the hollow roared and roared until it faded into nothingness. Yami turned to face the man he had bound with Sai and released the restraints.
“Sorry about that. I’m Yami a shinigami.” Yami introduced, “It’s our job to kill those monsters, hollow their called, and protected souls like you.”
“Souls? Hollows? Shinigami?” Yokani said confused and amazed at the same time, “I don’t understand what your saying but thanks for saving me.”
Yami walked over to the man and tapped his forehead with his zanpaktou’s hilt.
“Perhaps one day we’ll meet each other again but for now go to Soul Society, the where all dead humans go and learn about the afterlife.” Yami said
Yami remained in the real world for a few minutes pondering the das events. A human soul had stayed behind, probably angry about something, it wasn’t his business. And a hollow had chased it down, and probably attacked the plant that was nearby.
So you’re the one that wields me. Yami heard in his head. Yami looked down at his zanpaktou, had it just spoken to him?
