Short Summary: Mugen no Juunin is the story of a man named "Manji" who has been induced with a type of worm like creatures known as Kessen-Chu or Sacred Bloodworms. What these worms do is every time his body is injured in combat, these worms sacrifice themselves to close and heal the wound. This basically makes Manji immortal, as even the loss of a limb can be reattached. These worms act as part of his body, and new wons are born inside him to replace the old ones used in the healing process.

The goal of Manji's life now has become to die. He has lived for 80 years, and killed many people. As atonement for his sins, he has decided that he, the man known as "the killer of 100" will kill 1000 criminals to make amends for his crimes.

These reason that Manji has been given these worms is shaped by that goal. An 800 year old nun named Yaobikuni, placed these worms in him to make sure he stays alive to complete this goal.

The story revolves around Manji and his search for atonement. He makes for a great leading character because, unlike other heroes, he was first the villian. It also makes for a good read/watch because you notice something about Manji early on. He is a master swordsman, yet he tends to get beat around a lot before winning. Now that is typical in alot of animes today, but here is the catch: manji doesn't need to get stronger to win, he just doesn't care. Since he can heal repeatedly, and by the same fate, he cannot feel pain, his skills have grown rusty as he no longer is concerned with keeping them sharp. He simply outlasts his opponent and defeats them.

Manji carries a total of 21 weapons under his Kimono, and he is quite devastating in his attacks.

The series itself covers four story arcs, and is currently in the 5th.

There are many twists and turns, as well as hidden agendas in these arcs, making for a great story.

Manga/Anime status: The Manga is still ongoing, with 140 chapters to date. The anime has reached what is being called a Finale, after 13 episodes. However, this is most likely untrue, as the anime follows the manga so closely, only elements of the 1st two arcs have been completed, leaving a cliffhanger in episode 13, as it begins the 3rd. Most likely there will be another season.

Reason for wanting to join the reviewer team: Well I have an experience in Journalistic writing, and to be honest, I watch enough anime and read enough manga, that I've gotten a pretty good grasp of concepts and ideals. Further more though, to pass time lately, I've been using my skills as a historian to research the history of animes/mangas and their cultural relevance.

How often do you watch animes? Hard to say, as I do not keep track of exact time, but quite avidly, and probably more than anything else... accept heroes..man I love that show..lol

Do you ever finish them(unless they are still on going)? Absolutely. the fun is in the journey, but the vindication is in the destination.

How many might you say in numbers the anime's you have completed watching? God it's been going on for years, so to be honest, I couldn't tell you if I tried... let's just say over 50 to be safe. (Excluding movies).


I'm going to answer this one, because I have a funny answer to it...

Q4: In a cross road theirs a Hot girl/guy flirting with you from the
other side, and from where you are an old senior citizen decides to
cross the street, who would much rather go to? would you help the old
person, or go to the hot/girl/guy flirting with you that might loose
all interest in you if you help the senior citizen cross, what will you
do? Explain


My logic here would be simple: I would call over the hot girl and ask her if she would mind helping me out a second; I need someone to watch my stuff as I help my grandmother get across the street.

Once she has come over, I would then go help the elderly person across and come back.

This would benefit me in two ways; one it shows I'm someone who cares about others (a plus in this case if you get my meaning), and that I'm responsible, since i didn't just run off and leave my stuff.

Also it would give me a great chance to boost our interest and strike up a conversation.

How's that?
