Post by Dawn Wed Feb 11, 2009 6:23 am

Well I got photoshop on my computer, It's the new one I think. Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0. I'm new at this and don't know squat about photoshop. Just taking comments and referrals to tutorials. Right Now I DONT want any post that says "Oh that looks newbie" or some other kind of stuff, cause I'm just any gonna tell you to read the topic tittle. So if you can't say anything nice don't post what so ever in this thread.

For starting out there pretty decent... It's always best to start off doing some small simple stuff...

What kind of tutorials are you looking for?

Anything that is simple enough for me to do signatures and banners.

I don't think anyone would post something rude like saying that's newbie lol.

It looks great for a first timer.:D

You can find a lot of tutorials on deviant art.

Thank you Nance, I'll go seek some out. I was just saying that cause someone said something rather rude before.

    These are all right.
I don't see what you did to them.
Since well, I've seen these images floating around the internet.
    Maybe it's the pictures.
Um well lets see....you need to learn how to size your pictures.
They are really really big and fuzzy.
    I mean come one.
Second off I don't think you grabbed the best quality images either.
These are how do you put, very newbie and I respect that just try hard and continue you at it.
And learn to size your pictures better.

Yeah someone did Nance. :( And Thank you. :)

As for Hazou, I know these renders are floating around Photobucket. I put them on my photobucket. 2nd of all these are just test runs! When I learn how to make FANCY stuff then you can say what you want. I know what I did wrong because I saw it in the final product, also even if I didn't state this at the top, These were done in 10 minutes cause I was bored and didn't wanna do my Homework, my dad just put it on the computer and I wanted to mess around with stuff.

I still have some viable advice in there.
Never go to the biggest size, always keep a happy medium.

I know, like I said I'll do anything to avoid doing Homework. I'll play around with it more. With me you have to remember I'll try anything new whether I suck at it or not.

    Hullo.

Firstly, I'd like to say that they're blurry, so I suggest that you sharpen those images at around 30. Whatever floats your boat.

The second one is awesome though, nice and simple. Vectors ftw!

The first one isn't that desirable, it looks as though you haven't spent enough time on it.

Hope to see more from you!

I'll try to see what I can do. The 2nd one is pretty though a lot.

Well I've stated to some people my school is taking place in a contest for google called Doodle 4 Google. The contest is about having kids of all ages (K-12) submit a drawing based on a theme.

Here is more details Doodle 4 Google

Well I was playing with photoshop and made some stuff playing with a non-colored Google Logo. This is how it came out. Just go easy. This isn't what I'm submitting I'll probably hand draw something too.

Thank you Dark, I'm still making progress. Also the one I just posted isn't gonna be turned in cause I think it has to be a white background.

Sorry for the double post but I made a ton of siggy's with photoshop. I took a bunch of tut's (I went crazy reading the in depth ones). I read the short ones but those lead me nowhere. But I did learn a few stuff before I almost went crazy. :p I had to make another photobucket. Some of them are for my friends. Jenny (not the one on BD) request 1 siggy and I made her a ton...

Very nice siggy's you got there... Some could use some better blanding in my opinion, but yet again, it might just be my computer and lack of me wearing my glasses...

ima say, i love them all, not bad for a beginner, but i love the 2nd one the most simple and clean, text is not bad either, the colors all match.

ima give you a 5/5 for that.

one who would go second on my ranking list is the 4th signature, though the render is bothering me a little, but i love it, it has a nice flow to it, loving the abstract brush on there Xd
    3/5

for the heck of it i'll rete all of them Xd

i kinda got used to rating sigs intentionally or not, so yeah.

    1st signature
its a little to plain for me, but i like the lighting 3/5

    3rd Signature

I have a feeling you were experimenting on some new options here, thats good, but i think its unfinished, just a little more blending, some smudging and a clean text would finish this just fine.

i wont rate cause i think its unfinished, for not it just looks like to images combined together XD

    5th Signature
i'm liking the feeling it gives, HOPE has a lot to do with it too.
a little plain, but not bad

    3/5

    6th Signature
i liked how you tried making a rainbow effect back ground its nice, but i think the render image is forced(not sure what the proper word is but thats just me)

    i'll give it a 3/5

    7th signature

I liked how you've experimented on some vector brushes here (vector, correct?)

it gives out a classy look, simple yet elegant, the color scheme is not that bad too, i like the text placement and color so solved

    i'll give it 3.5/5

    8th Signature

A smaller version of the 1st Signature i see, i liked the 1st one more than this, kinda like the rukia signature, it looks like to pictures combined, but its okay Xd

nothings bad about it, but its to plain for me(thats just me)

    i'll give it a 3/5

All in all not bad, not bad at all
    i love the 2nd one

    -worships-

    ok, i'm out

Thanks Ruru, the renders I got were really bad...for example the Momo Hinamori one was bad...I tried to make it work in my favor though. I agree with you, the 2nd and & 5th.

My favorite is the 2nd sig, the pink one.
My least favorite is the 3rd with Ruka.
She doesn't seem to fit into the cloud picture, now you could as Ruka advise and blend them or try something different with clouds.
